Black Grills on Glacier Silver

So finally got my buddy to install them....Needless to say I feel like an idiot after he did it. He made it look so easy, LOL. I'll definitely make a new thread after I get my spacers installed and do a proper photo shoot. I've seen them in a pic before but they really do look way better in person

It's just the right amount of "black" I think. Better not to have the side mirrors blacked out too. I think the body color mirrors keeps the car looking wider

Definitely looks good on 30i as there no gold/brown colored elements on fender and bumper. It just completes the look of 30i.
Worth to say, black grill looks bigger now than chrome one.

That looks fantastic. Please do give us a quick look at the install process, I really want to try this with our Sapphire Black-on-black M-sport i30. I think it may tone down the nose a bit and possibly enlarge the perceived overall width. I just need the trim rings by the way, I hope I can get them w/o purchasing the entire kidney grill in black.

Nope - you HAVE to get the whole grill. It's worth it. $160-ish shipped.

As for the install it's REALLY easy. I had a hard time only because I was scared to pull too hard....but my buddy did it for me and it was all done in 7 min. LOL. You just need to pop the hood; each grill has 3 tabs on the top. Loosen them and slowly pull the grill away from the bumper. It will come off and you wont break anything. Really easy. Then when you install the new grills just go slowly to make sure all the tabs are sliding into the right slots or you'll break them.

Nicely done. Pairs up perfectly on the 30i. Not so much on the M40i unless you black out the other Cerium bits as well IMO.

I think it looks great on that color!

I was going to get black, but I actually decided I like the pewter color gril on the M40, with the blue. I havent picked up the car yet but have seen the same color M40 at a dealer and my wife and I both thought "hey that grill looks ok with those accents and that color body".

This from someone who bought black grills on both my 435 and my wifes X5, and my 435 was estoril blue.
