I am most likely going to trade in my M3 for one in 2018-2019, the new M5 is damn tempting but I think the X3M could be as fun to drive (current X3 weighs less than M5) and $30,000 less.

Agree completely. Performance aside, the cargo space of the Macan and X4 M40i are about 17.7 cu ft, not close to what we have in the current X3 at 27.6 cu ft. And it is likely the G01 will be even larger with better designed back seats which will finally fold flat and with at least a few inches added length to that compartment. For this reason alone the Macan has never been a consideration for us.

Not if there is a new X4M coming too. An X5M is $100K-ish. There has to be room in there.

I think it will be closer to $70K. Remember that there will also be a X3M40, which I'm guessing will be in the ~$60K range.

My 16' X4 M40i came out to $67,545 MSRP and my friends 17' came out to $69,145 (topped out).

I mean, a loaded new 35i M'd-out is ~$62-$68. The new M40i has to be more expensive, I think, topping out at $70 and therefore, there is no way the X3M is $70k. Again, my guess is $80k, which is VERY competitive with a Macan Turbo and Alpha Stelvio, which will be the reference cars and more like $90+

Maybe it starts at $75 but I highly doubt it.

I doubt there will be a $10K price difference between the 2 models but who knows. Currently there is a $3,400 price difference between the X5M and X6M. I expect to see the X3/4 M40i at just under $70K and the X3/4 M at just under $80K. The X4 versions will be closer to $70K and $80K mark.

Base MSRP for X3M at $80k? So a decently equipped version would cost like $90-95k?
