Those are beautiful!! Can you send (PM is fine) me the sku # you ordered? Which finish. How do you like those tires in the snow/ice?

I really like the new series offered by HRE. They are priced well, but I wish they offered them in 21"s or 22"s and more aggressive fitments...

Looks sharp. Nice contrast with the machined faces.

Wheel Manufacturing and Testing Info

I posted this info to another thread a few days ago, but it struck me that this thread was likely the best location for these links to reference information on how wheels are made and tested. This info will give you the knowledge to be a smarter consumer when you are looking for aftermarket wheels.

The linked threads are in the wheel and tire section on the E9X forum on M3Post. They are a great primer on wheel construction and testing. Check the threads out. There are other sticky threads in the E9X Wheel and Tire Section you may find of interest,

Crash Course on Wheel Manufacturing Methods

All You Ever Wanted to Know about Wheel Performance Standards

Be sure to watch the wheel manufacturing video in the first posting of that thread. There's an eye opening testing video several postings down in the standards thread (#9).

20" Niche Misano + DWS06. 25mm offset. I was really holding out for 21" A/S tires, but that doesn't seem like it's happening.

Huge shoutout to RFernando for answering the many questions I had.[IMG][/IMG]

Here's the link to the exact one (Advanti DST Svelto Machined with Satin Black Accent): https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...8&autoModClar=

Also, for snow/ice, I wouldn't go for the AS3+; they're great in cold/wet/dry, but in snow/ice, I think other AS tires do better. They also have hard sidewalls so you won't get a super plush ride either.

Hi, I really love my HRE's but I would not say they are priced well 😃😃. I was also surprised how conservative the ET is. I am thinking about getting the spacers next summer which is something I hoped I don't have to do since the wheels are custom made for the car.

I didn't read through the thread, but in case it hasn't been mentioned, Apex wheels are going to have models for the X3 in the near future. Group buys will be posted I'm sure. No affiliation, I had emailed them asking if they had any wheels b/c I loved the Arc-8's I had on my (sold) M3.

Something to look forward to. When I was active at M3Post for 2 or 3 years after I bought my 2010 M3, the owner of Apex spent a fair amount of time there answering people's questions about wheels in general and his wheels in particular. While I never bought any of the Apex wheels, I found him to be very knowledgeable and determined to make a good product at a fair cost. Many people did buy his Arc-8 wheels (mostly for track use) and were very satisfied. I know Apex has several additional wheel models now. It will be interesting to see what they offer for our vehicles.
