Battery preheating

Hello everybody!

Can you tell me if battery preheating starts automatically if you navigate to a fast charger or we must manually start preheating function? If so, how much time before and minimum SOC for it?
Thanks!

In our car it pops up stating "Ambient temperature is low - do you want to activate battery heating"? Both when the destination is a charger and also just driving around. So I don´t think it activated automatically; but it will ask. Our is a LCI.

Some do and some don't, for some reason.

My colleague has the app in his late pre-LCI.

Haven´t paid much attention; but below 10 degrees C, I think.

About 5 degrees for me when I’ve seen it. Why would I want to pre-heat the battery if not driving to a charger? That’s what confuses me.

Yes my question would be if I have no need for a ccs charge, would I still need to activate pre-heat in this cold snap to help the car in any other way?

As far as I know battery pre-heat is purely to facilitate fast charging, so no other advantage that I’m aware of.

On my June '22 build car, the preheating is done automatically if the destination is a DC charger. That's on the built-in nav. I'd be interested to know does it happen if using carplay nav? And if not, how far in advance would it have to be manually activated?

Nope. You have to look at the preheating app in the car

The car asks me sometimes if I want to pre-heat. I have set the pre-heat app as one of my button shortcuts.
