Hi all, I'm new to coding and did my first today, alpine clocks and asd offline
I'd like to start the car in sport mode but could not find that function, is it only in expert mode?

Steve, I am gathering you don't have a UniCarScan or OBDLink adapter (dongle) then, as you need one of those to change the driving mode option under "Body Domain Controller BDC"

Im getting a new phone but keeping my old one just not connected to cell service. Can i still use my old phone with the app without cell service? I would still update the app with wifi and all the files are already on it. Should work fine right?

Guys,

Just got my M40i last week and am loving it. Already got myself the Bimmercode app and a Vgate 4.0. I realise that I need to get a UniCarScan for the full features, but my question is even if I get the UniCarScan adapter, will I be able to do the following through Bimmercode?

- The LED low beams and high beams fade on and off 'softly', is there any way for them to turn on/off 'instantly' rather than fade in and out?

- Will expert mode allow for coding the anti-dazzle high beams to be enabled?

- Will expert mode allow for taillights to come on with daytime running lights?

- Will expert mode allow for low beams to come on when unlock button is pressed?

I've tried reading through the 67-odd pages of this thread, but couldn't see anything that references the above, although I've seen it done on forums for other models. Is the solution something other than Bimmercode??

Yes, you can use the app on multiple devices without having to pay again, but please note that it is not possible to transfer a purchase from iOS to Android or vice versa.

I just wanted to make sure the device does not need cell service. Im disconnecting the phone i have been using. Im thinking it should work because its just the app and bluetooth but was looking for confirmation from someone.

pretty sure you don't need cell service, as they recommend turning airplane mode on phone

I believe you only need connectivity to update the app so you should therefore be able to keep it running and updated over your home WIFI or tether it to your other phone or CAR WiFi if you have it

Hi gyus. It was asked a few times, but without an answer. Some times past, so I wanted to ask again - did someone successfully coded enhanced bluetooth with Bimmercode? Without any 6N options? I was again looking into it, but found only confusing information.

You cannot code enhanced Bluetooth, hardware needed. But you can get CarPlay coded meaning you have to plug in phone to get CarPlay, I am having this done on Tuesday...full screen hopefully assuming my firmware is new enough

I have CarPlay coded, no additional hw needed. It works via WiFi, although the signal is quite weak - phone has to be near HU (for example on the lid od the center console), to work without issues. To EB - I read that you don't need any additional hw for that too. Maybe someone will chime in, who has successfully done it.

If you read my comments, I did say you can get CarPlay coded, so partially correct 😂 But was under impression had to be connected to cable for CarPlay to work. Actually having mine coded (CarPlay) on Tuesday so will find out 1st hand 👍

Enhanced Bluetooth (6NS): Add 6NS to your FA. VO Code HU_NBT. Then follow these steps after for your iPhone to pair properly (thank you @skalberti): Then you have to remove all bluetooth devices and re add them. And then configure them like Shawn said. Now for text messages to show up, go to the bluetooth menu on your phone, look for your last 5 of your vin. Hit info incon on the right. Check and make sure "show notifications" and "sync contacts" are checked on. Now whenever you're in your car and someone texts you an envelope icon will appear on your idrive. Now you can use Siri hands free and ask her to read your new texts. Then she'll give you the option to reply if you want. To get emails to show up, after your in your car and the phone is connected, double tap the home button and close the mail app that's running in the background. If it's not running in the background go ahead and click on the mail app after your phone has connected to your car. Now emails will show up and they can be read to you. Keep in mind, the idrive will only alert you of messages received while connect to your car. If you received a message before you get in your car, it won't display it after you connect to your car. Also, if you're having issues with Phone 2 not showing up, try this: "Options-scroll down-Configure bluetooth, and tick Telephone 2 and Office. You can then assign the 1 or 2 to each paired telephone."

For anyone who loses their OFFICE menu in your iDrive, go to HU_NBT / MACRO_PIM / make sure it is set to aktiv. @abhiku's for some reason got deactivated (not sure what happened or how), but it needs to be aktiv for the OFFICE menu to show.

If for some reason, your OFFICE is having issues, make sure all the ones in HU_NBT below are set to aktiv - this will give you the full functionality to make your OFFICE (6NS) to work correctly:

Thank you SO MUCH for this. I was FINALLY able to get Text Messages working on my 2015 i3. One question, though; I was not able find "REMINDER_TRIGGERS_EIN_AUS" in Bimmercode. All the others I found and activated, and when I rebooted and repaired mine and my wife's iPhone X's, the elusive "Show Notifications" slider FINALLY showed up on the phones, and message alerts/messages began showing up on the iDrive screen. So, is there any reason to be concerned about the lack of the "REMINDER_TRIGGERS_EIN_AUS." Is there possibly a new item that's replaced it? In any case, thanks again for this... it totally worked for me!
