I have heard good things about Michelins too if you want to try those.

Don’t be afraid of Fake News. Conti’s are great!

I got Conti Sport 6 on my very early 7/6/19 delivery. They are a tremendously good tires with 1 flaw - they wear out quickly. I’m at 9k miles and my rears were below the wear line at 7,500. The are very quiet, soft, grippy, and don’t have the stupid little nibs all over the sides like the Michelin’s do.

I don’t see any stock on Tire Rack or Discount Tire for Sport 6 replacements, so may order P4S next. Going to irritate me to spend an hour clipping all those stupid nibs.

Michelin tires are great too. Had them exclusively on my M3 Comp, F10, E92, etc. Point being the Conti’s are a great tire also.

Cheers

Got the X3M CP today on Contis. Rather had Michelins but it’s all good.

I think the Conti's are terrible, all reviews from Conti's to MP4S's day the difference is night and day.

My rears are down to 3-4mm after only 3400 miles with pretty normal driving.

I finally found a deal I can respect so picking up car this weekend. It has Continentals. Tuesday I go in to Discount Tire swap to PS4S and I guess I'll store the conti for lease turn in unless I can sell for $1000+.

The CSC6P is a really good tyre much better front end than with PS4S.

After some aggressive driving on the Conti and now switched to upsized PS4S, I think the Michelin advantage is tread life and a little less road noise plus a little more comfort. I suppose I like the sidewall of the Michelin's better too but that's a minor thing. For grip and handling they are very similar unless temps are low, then PS4S wins no question.

Conti here. Will probably get Michelins when they wear out. Maybe it’s a good incentive to make it happen quicker?

I had to google these but it seem people are happy with them.

One review I saw was bad stated "we didn't actually test these tires but they can't perform as well as a more expensive set"

I would never buy them for my X3MC but if they are safe, could see it for a cheap car.

Look, folks, Michelin PS4 is an excellent tire but none of you will truly feel a performance difference unless you are driving the car at its limit (which I really hope you are not doing outside of a racetrack with safety gear on). There is so much ridiculous overstatement -- "Contis are trash," etc. For 99% the more relevant factors are noise and ride comfort. When I had my M5, I had Contis, Michelins, and used Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on my track wheels. When it came time to replace the street tires again (10,000 miles was about the limit on any of them), I tried a much less expensive set of Kumho Ecstas. They were perfectly fine for street use and I enjoyed saving hundreds of dollars. So, don't get caught up in internet hype about Michelins being the only worthy choice.

There are certain distinct advantages to me regarding PS4S vs CSC6. You are right they are both very good tires but for my uses, the PS4S lasts up to twice as long, functions better in 40-50F temps, is better in wet, has slightly improved ride and noise comfort, and is questionably better handling at 8/10ths on the street, which I do on some weekend mornings. So all of that can be really significant depending on the user.

Agree 100% that those are all good factors for the purchasing decision.

I won the lottery when mine arrived with PS4s. I almost lost the whole kitty when the dealer noticed one of the tires was seriously gouged on transport overseas, couldn't get a replacement PS4 for months, and offered to swap out for the Contis which they could get quickly from their chain. I opted for door number 3: swap the factory tires for my scorpion winters I had luckily, preventively already acquired from tire rack since it was fall and order me another front PS4 in the meantime. Problem solved. I just swapped the Pirellis out three weeks ago and am finally enjoying the difference now with the factory Michelens. 295s in the rear next go round and 265s up front!

I cared more about getting options like ventilated seats, and mobility kit more than tires. But when I found this it had all the options and the right tires!

Since we have two X3MCs, mine with Michelin and my wife's with Conti, I compared their tread depths at current mileage. Can F/U in the future if I remember before changing out. Personally, I can't sense a difference driving both on same roads and conditions, but it does seem the Contis may wear faster. And not sure how key the traction difference is (as both have good ratings), but as that is measured under wet conditions seems there may be some factual basis for favoring Michelin ('AA') over Conti ('A') in that environment if extreme maneuvering is needed.

And just to note that all the M Driving school vehicles had Contis and the Instructors really like them, but there may be an economic basis to that choice as well since they go through tires fast.

I wasn't sure how these ratings were determined, so for those interested, here's a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unifor...uality_Grading

Just took delivery of my 2020 X3M. Came with the contis but there was another one on the lot that had Michelin's. When I asked about swapping, salesman said they couldn't because BMW requires them to sell the vehicle as its equipped from the factory and they would face potential liability if they switched them out. Sounded like bs to me but I wanted to see if anyone else heard this excuse before.
