In no way wanted to make this move but i would have to keep paying the car through my savings and not sure at 1100.00 a month that is a good move. the price for my M5 is phenomenal. So here is my point. I have a 2020 X4M Comp Alpine white/Ivory interior on hold at the dealer until they reopen which may be in 45 days . As of now my payment is at 825.00 per month for 85,600 car. what the salesman told me is wait this out and most likely BMW will be offering more incentives due to the economy. i test drove the X4M and have to say i did enjoy it. the new engine is real nice. i was impressed with the X4MC.It corners very flat for its size. My question is would any of you keep paying for the M5 through your savings and not sure when biz is going to come back, or get rid of the car you love, and jump on this X4M comp when your income comes back to normal. Or Would it be best to call BMW and get differed payments which i think their doing for 60 days . So confused. any of you that have the X4M can you give me some insight how you like the vehicle. has anyone gone from an F90 to a X4M?
Be patient as I hear dealers are getting upwards of $10k to help move vehicles. You may be able to get that payment down even less. At $850 it is a steal. It's almost $300 less than mine. My guess is $700s when the dust settles.

Better to miss the V8 sound than food on the table, don’t ya think?
Over 4 months old. Check the dates.. food on a table what are you even talking about?

Seriously? He's referring to paying for a car over being able to provide necessities for himself and family. It's hyperbole but valid when you have no income and are debating whether to keep/buy an expensive luxury item.

You would be surprised what you are capable of when things get bad. If I had to use my savings to pay for a luxury car I wouldn’t blink about getting a cheap 4-banger.

I can’t stand ongoing payments myself exactly because of times like this. If I was faced with using my emergency fund to pay for a vehicle it would not sit well with me.

I get your point, but a cheap car will get you where you are going and make your savings last longer.

I am told it depends on area and model but it's to help sales during this time. Push your dealer and see what they say. I know on a 7 series it can be $20k total in discounts easy

Thanks for the reply
But $20k on a 7er can be had any day of the week. BMW puts a ton of cash on those puppies

just saying there is up to $10000 per vehicle depending on the vehicle and how long it has sat extra right now on top of all other incentives. I have seen $25000 off a $96K 750i which honestly is a steal. But to each his own. Just know that BMW is fronting extra money especially if the cars are already punched say in the loaner fleet. On the M5 lets say $120k sticker. Getting loyalty and discounts already yields you $10-15k. The extra money might be enough to get $25k off depending on how hard you push. Just remember it is a buyers market right now, many people are out of a job and the dealers are stuck. Even BMW sales are down 13% for the quarter which is to be expected. The last thing a dealer wants is a $120k car sitting in storage that they will have to pay interest on (BMW is supposedly covering that right now). Would love the see what you get. How much is the MSRP?

Take the deferred payments. That will buy you time to make up your mind. Sacrificing your savings isn't worth it but giving up on an F90 too soon is also not a wise move.

i moved forward and the new buyer will be picking up myF90. As far as what i have on hold is X4MC 85,700 msrp their at 850.00 tax in and this was before things got real bad with the virus. I'm hoping for $750.00 only first payment down. my lease is cheaper and my insurance savings is almost 100.00 month less. i have a Alpine white, ivory interior on hold till dealer reopens. i will tune it either BM3 or piggy back RC. i do like the X4M quite a bit. it doesn't pull like an M5 but its very flat and cornering is nimble. i never tuned the M5 so well see. if i can run a 10.8 quarter or 10.9 in X4mc ill be happy
