Updating Driver Settings

So, I've RTFM & seem to keep missing this. When I purchased my X3MC, nice BMW Genius kid helped me set my driver profile. Now that I've had the car for a while, I find that I'd like to update those settings, but I can figure out how to do that. Does the car automatically update my settings, or is there a way for me to update them?

The only options I find in the settings are to import, export & delete my settings. Does the car just save my settings if I change them? It doesn't appear to.

The car will remember your settings. You need to save seat settings using the buttons on the door. The car keeps your seat settings M button settings, radio settings, driver assistance settings etc attached to your profile and key. A second driver can then use a separate key and profile for their settings.

Thanks for the info. So the car auto-updates for any changes? That's pretty cool.

It's in the manual, under the Driver Profile section. Sorry, don't know what page that would be.

Kept reading right by that!

"Changes to the settings are automatically stored in the driver profile currently activated."

Thank you. Appreciate the quick responses on the Forum. I guess I kept thinking that my seat settings would be saved automatically, but as Zero71 indicated, seat settings are saved differently.

No worries. LOTS of info in there and easy to skim over stuff. In fact, there's a whole list of settings or features that are saved in a Profile setting.

EDIT: here's the list

• Unlocking and locking

Lights

• Climate control

• Radio

Instrument cluster

Programmable memory buttons

• Volumes, tone

• Control Display

• Navigation

PDC Park Distance Control

• Panorama View

Head-up Display

Driving Dynamics Control

• Seat position, exterior mirror position

Both the positions saved by the seat memory and the last position set are saved

• Intelligent Safety
