Rare beast - BMW X3 sDrive 18d

Finally after exactly 4 months ordered X3 arrived. This is a company car and it is absolutely basic. The only modification I could do is the color. 0 options (ah, no - CD player, why ?) with 136 hp Diesel engine (downgraded from 150hp), rear drive. automatic gearbox. rear wheel drive.
Generally very happy with that, noise comfort is absolutely fantastic after VW.
Bit disappointed with a gear box, it is a bit slow-thinking after VW's dual clutch DSG.
More impressions to come.

Options list:

S1CAA Selection of COP relevant vehicles
S1CBA CO2 package
S205A Automatic transmission
S230A Extra package, EU-specific

Well, I guess you have at least one option automatic gearbox. You can actually have sDrive 18d with manual. Also maybe folding mirrors (or you just folded them by yourself)?
Any interior pictures? Very curious how does X3 without AC looks. Does it have "sport wheel", I have seen some images of standard "thin" wheel but only in brochure.

Then you should search this forum better. Plenty pictures of standard wheel.

By standard I mean basic thin wheel. Not the one which was standard in M40i US version. There are 3 different wheels: basic, sport and M sport. Literally every car comes at least with sport one. I haven't seen photos of basic wheel. Ever.

folding mirrors, AC with tri-zone climate, rain/light sensors - but these options I guess come as standard.

Some interior photos, including the wheel :

Nice pics. Actually these options don't come as standard in many countries. For example in Germany you will pay €730 for 3 zone climate control, €490for power mirrors and also €1 490 for Business Nav, I guess your car has it too (according to instrument cluster pic). So this car isn't that empty after all . Also nice to see front collision warning and pedestrian warning as standard on 2019 . I'm curious if it's possible to code speed limit info/lane departure warning/lane assist/high beam assist, two cameras setup is already there.

P.S. I guess they ditched non-sport wheel and now include sport wheel as standard...thanks god.

You can code Sports Automatic Transmission (2TB) easily with Bimmercode.

What's the difference? I thought this option just adds shift pedals behind the wheel.

Totally happy with that, but the biggest disappointment are the headlights.
They are LED for a low beam, and halogen (normal lamp) for a high beam, which is OK.
But they are missing that iconic light band around the reflector.

This is a bad marketing actually, because it is a kind of identification of the car brand when you see it in the mirror or in the night you can easily identify the brand. It is like removing BMW logos from everywhere from the car.

This corner cutting on premium German SUV in MY2019 is ridicules. Btw, did you mount your front license plate by yourself? I'm thinking about mounting it without the plastic part, same as you. I will have to ask my dealership if they drill holes for mounting bracket or specifically for the plate.

Dealer did it for me. Screwed directly into the plastic. It looks like this:

If you plan to use holding frame, check it carefully before attaching to the bumper, because X3 I had on a test drive had it and parking sensors were reacting on it. So if you decide to use a frame, check that it is not too thick.

How much money do you save by going for the power reduction in Belgium? We used to have that awful option in Norway as well to avoid horse power tax. But now that tax has been replaced by a CO2 tax, so no more 843 power reduction coming our way anymore.

EUR 200 yearly

CO2 is also considered, but for 150 hp or 136 hp it is the same - 128 g, so no difference.

Hello kilch , I have just ordered BMW X3 18d sdrive (2022 version) and I would like to ask you for your long-term experiance with this engine? Also how does this car behave in slippery conditions - rain/snow?

I will be happy if you could share some of your experiance.

Thank you
