A lot of the reviews for the Conti’ AS tell of a less direct steering wheel feel. If my goal is non track or aggressive driving would I benefit from the Michelin AS instead of the Michelin Summer tire.
I would swap them out with the Michelin Pilot AS/4 or Conti DWS 06+. Take your pick, they're basically the same aside from a little better dry performance from the Michelins and a little better wet/snow performance from the Contis.

Thanks, my gut feeling is that the Michelin A/S would give me performance closer to the Michelin summer yet with a harder rubber.

If they are anything like the Pilot Sport AS/3 that they superseded, you will not be disappointed.

I have a 2022 xD30i. Does anyone know how long the 12V cigarette lighter socket in the center console stay on after the car is turned off and locked?

I'm installing a dash cam and it doesn't turn off even after the car is locked. But when I plug the dash cam into the USB A port in the center console, it turns off after about 30 seconds after the car is locked. But I'm not entirely sure if the dash cam will overload the USB port in the long run, since it's only good for 1.5A.

I believe it’s 7-10 minutes. You could look at the Dashcam footage to see when it stops recording.

Thanks…was curious to know if it was taken out of iDrive 7 & no longer available in the app based on some of the questions in this thread.

Here's one. Is there any reason other than "cost savings" that the passenger side mirror does not dim like the rear view and driver's side mirror? Or, is this some sort of German safety thing. It seems really odd that that one mirror is different than the rest.

That’s first thing I will retrofit when mine will be delivered. That’s the most stupidest thing they could do… I think it’s just cost cutting. On F3X cars some of them had both auto dimmed, some of them was with just driver side.

Why an oddity? The driver controls window air distribution, no control needed for the passenger.

Don't know about idrive 7 (I'm on 6) but iPhone app is callled bmw drivers guide. Once you open it asked for your bmw login, it then automatically takes you to your card manual.

According to the Canadian ordering guide both exterior mirrors suppose too, option 430.

Of course they always have the disclaimer in small print at the bottom of the page...

How do I check if mine is auto-dimming?

It depends at what stage is your car at.

If you are at Production Code 112 (Order scheduled for Production) and above, no.

It'll have this ring inside the mirror glass.

Start the car and cover the sensor on the back side of the interior mirror (see #3 in illustration below for electrochromic mirror)...then shine a bright light into the sensor on the front of the interior mirror.

This should cause the interior and exterior auto dimming mirrors to dim. If the passenger mirror does not dim...then you'll have your answer.

I think one can make changes to the car as long as production status did not hit 150.

You are correct but sometime the time is short between events.

I took over the dealership allocation on the 17 of September and it went fast from there. When I call my SA on the 23rd of September to add a couple of options he said he could not do it.
