Comfort Access - Sleeping Keys

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As per the title, does the X3M/4M have the latest key fobs with the movement sensors in to help prevent relay theft as they go to sleep? I've got delivery on the 20th December, Tracker installation booked in, just wondering if I get a ghost now or not as it's another £400 of expense

funny, i just researched this the other night - mid 2018 all BMW have the new key.

Personally i decided against tracker (other insurance companies will cover you for the same premium). BMW can locate your car (although maybe not as quickly). So, that is £1200 saved by not going tracker and ghost.

Another option is to get a faraday wallet.

Ah that’s good know that they all have it!

Already got the faraday box ready for our night time key store. It’s cheaper for me to have a tracker too, my premium is going up from £300 on our xc60 to £800 ish with a tracker or £1150 without, it’ll pay for itself over 2/3 years

That is a lot for insurance! I had to cancel mine and take out a new policy that was the same price, but no tracker needed. Did you shop around?

Yes, all the comparison sites done, not tried any specialist ones if there are any for M cars?

Have a look at the insurance thread on here, a few of us with same age ncb etc but the car location is the only factor it seems!
