wheel nut torque

looking at removing my wheels and ceramic coating them while i have time during covid 19. what’s the torque nm to tighten then
back up?

my old m135 was 140nm. i’m assuming it’s not the same but i could be wrong

It's printed in the owners manual 101 lbs ft / 140 nm

Make sure you retorque them after driving for about 20 miles and they have cooled down.

You would be surprised how they lose the torque setting due to the different expansion of the steel lugs and the aluminum wheels.

I never did this until I had a wheel almost come off on my truck. I typically do it the next day and again a week later. I've get to have any necessary adjustment from the 2nd to 3rd time but I'm paranoid now.

Just follow the star pattern again and see if any are loose.

thanks both. i have done it on my last two cars, just wanted to confirm the nm for this

hopefully ceramic coating the wheels will make them loads easier to clean

When I worked for bmw. We were all issued a 110ft torque stick. Never had a wheel come loose or bolts not come back off.

Change the brake pads and you won't have to worry about cleaning them hardly at all.

JABCAT I simply hope the iSweep 2000 pads I just bought (instead of the 1500 units you have) don't dust up too much more.
