Reomote start option

Is there no remote start option available for the 2012 x3 35i, I see none listed on any of the BMW you build it sites?

Correct, currently, there is no factory installed or approved remote start option for the X3 F25. There are third-party systems that CLAIM to work for this vehicle, but they require significant "surgery" to the X3's wiring and anti-theft systems.

There was a short previous thread about this.

Lotus 7, thanks for the info.
Anyone know why, just doesn't make sense for a high end car and no factory option, just about all other O.E.'s are offering it
THANKS AGAIN FORUM..

I suspect that it's a lack of enough customer demand as well as security concerns.

The last time I checked, the field of "higher-end" manufactures was pretty evenly split about offering this as a factory option, so it's not as uncommon (to NOT offer it) as you might think:

Acura - yes
Audi - no
BMW - no
Cadillac - yes
Ferrari - no
Infiniti - yes
Jaguar - no
Lexus - yes
Mercedes Benz - yes
Porsche - no

There is no way in the world I would put that option on my car.
