all dash lights on
my 2006 X3 is going in for a recall on airbag sensor this week.
last week I started getting all dash lights on, Brake, ABS, Seat Belt, 4x4, traction. I took it to my mechanic and the lights were not on at the time, but no error codes. might be time to look for a new car! was hoping to get another year at least? 140k miles? oil changed every 5k. thanks for any ideas. |

after researching appears to be Transfer Case Actuator Motor (gear)
I doubt I will find a mechanic to replace the gear, might find one that can get an aftermarket transfer case actuator motor. |

Took me about 1.5 hrs to do this fix myself. If you feel like putting in the wrench time yourself, it can be done for $10 and some elbow grease.

It’s funny I think mine is doing it too but no dash lights which is strange. I get clunking from the main drive shaft/transfercase area especially when turning or on decelerations sometimes. No dash lights at all but maybe they’re on the way who knows. I’m thinking of changing the servo gear to see if helps.
