Driver Assistance Restricted after X3M Steering Wheel Swap

Hey guys,

First time poster, long time lurker.

I recently upgraded my worn M Sport steering wheel on my 2019 X3 M40i which has Driver Assist Plus. The new wheel is off an X3M with touch sensors etc.

After fitting the wheel and swapping over the original wiring harness from my M sport wheel I get the following errors after driving a few miles...

Driver Assistance Restricted
- Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Change Warning
- Side Collision Warning

The car will still auto steer, cruise works but the blind spot lights dont light up and no vibration present.

Do I need to recode the new wheel? All was working well before the swap.

What year vehicle did you pull the steering wheel out of? Did you swap the vibration motor over? 2020+ does not have a vibration motor in the steering wheel as it done by the EPS steering. You need to check the fault code also with ISTA to really know what is faulting.
