Fitment Reference: HRE FF04 wheels

Like many of us in the North East I took delivery of my X3MC in December and immediately needed to solve the summer tire problem. Of course there was a lot of other cheaper and more simple solutions than this...but you know how the mod bug goes. I don't daily drive this car so dedicated winters weren't required. Hopefully this thread is helpful to others looking for a similar fitment. It took a lot of research and a leap of faith since others haven't fitted these yet.

OEM X3MC as delivered with

Front - 21x9.5 +31
Rear - 21x10 +39
255/40/21 F Sect Width: 10.2 / Height: 29”
265/40/21 R Sect Width: 10.7 / Height: 29.3”

HRE FF04 in their "Fog" grey powder coat. This fitment is for the F90 M5, but are load rated for the X3M.

Front - 21x9.5 +30 (Effective ET: 18)
Rear - 21x10.5 +35 (Effective ET: 30)
Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Plus
265/40/21 F Sect Width: 10.7 / Height: 29.3
295/35/21 R Sect Width: 11.9 / Height: 29.1

I opted to run Future Classic Spacers from IND because I'm a perfectionist and need a bit more poke than OEM. 12mm front, and 5mm rear. The wheels fit fine over the brakes without spacers.

Fitment wise, the top of the wheel sits just about flush with the wheel arch, but does not stick out beyond.

I'm very happy with how it looks and I can safely drive the car during winter including some light snow. I haven't had a chance to test spirited driving but can confirm that its no where near as terrifying as being on the Michelin's. I hate giving up so much performance during the summer so chances are I'll go back to the 4S's come spring.

Nice proper amount of tire meat there for 21’s. Might also have to switch to that tire once I take delivery of mine. Tires from Tirerack? How is the steering with the pirelli’s?

Looks fantastic!! (I've got a 265f/295r setup as well, and was just about to post a question to those, like you, with a similar setup, as to best spacer size.)
I want an aggressive stance, so was set on 12mm all around (have seen 15mm spacers all around with a 265/295 setup, but thinking that might actually be too much "poke" for my liking.)

Anyways, your beast looks amazing, enjoy!!

Love it, well done 👍

I had been emailing HRE and they said they had no fitments that worked for the x3m. This looks close to perfect to me!

Beautiful! I sort of wish I went black rather than Dark Graphite as the maintenance seems like it would be the same.

What are the measurement on the center caps? It would look awesome if you were able to put the 68mm BMW OEM ones in there:

Thanks for the feedback guys. No additional mods planned unless BMW releases a Hight Adjustable Suspension (HAS) kit like they did with the F80 platform.

It's hard to compare the Pirelli's vs the 4S's since the Michelins are so compromised this time of year. Best I can say is that I'm no longer fearful to let my wife drive the car when it's less than 40 out.

Can I ask you for a favor? Could you also take a straight front view picture? Thanks in advance!

This isn't perfect, but it's the only one I have. Comical the difference between these two...but I can't argue with the i3 as a daily driver.

I wanted to get 20" FF11's but the HRE rep said "the spokes on that would be weaker and narrower than my OEMs" I'm waiting to see if Titan 7 will come out with anything. Their rep told me "they are expanding to a larger suv/crossover application soon, stay tuned"

The design of the wheels look great, but I personally think the wheels stick out about a half inch too far.

Then just don't add the spacers as the OP mentioned in 1st post..."poke" solved 😂

Great feedback on the poke, hopefully this thread lets you guys adjust offset a bit. You can run them at near factory offset without spacers. Pictures might not do it justice, but the top of the tire is flush with the wheel arch, they aren't poking out.
