No Reason

Are there any service recalls on X3 windshields. Today got a little snow in Chicago, started car put defroster on , never used a scraper and the windshield cracked . It is 2015 X3 28d. Never sprayed fluid on the windshield just the defroster.

This can happen when there is a tiny crack that you never noticed or could see gets exposed to sudden changes in temperature such as being very cold and then a hot defroster.

No recalls. That sort of thing just happens sometimes. As said, even the tiniest for cracks at the edge will suddenly grow under stress from temperature changes.

call your insurance company.....might not even have to pay your deductible. I recommend Gerber Glass.
