Yep, I had the JB4 on a B58 and could install / remove in 10 mins, and there is no way I'm going through an hour plus install which is fairly complex and requires access to hard to reach places.

Not BMS fault as you say, but the only option for me currently is BM3.
With RaceChip, you won't need to remove the harness.
It comes with the bypass plug where you can use it to put the car back to stock.

Does anyone know once you install BM3 when you take the car back to dealer for service and you roll back to standard would BMW know you installed it in the first place and would this affect warranty?

It's a tricky question...if you flash back to stock they could still find out if they were looking for that. On a routine visit, it's probably no issue. On a visit for some potentially expensive warranty work, there is a chance they will look closer and have the ability to know.

Typically, that happens more often on high dollar repairs where someone from the corporate office gets involved.

Thanks for the info. Would if been good to know for sure if it was traceable and what systems they use to check. I might take the risk with a few more miles on the clock first.

All tunes can be traced. Don't let anyone tell you differently. That said, the dealers in my area typically dont care unless you have a serious issue...

Never go to an authorized BMW dealer if you have a serious issue with a modded car.

it might but will they dig deep enough to check? The answer is no they will not.

As long as you are not asking them to fix and engine, turbo or transmission they do not care. At the end of the day, they are getting paid by BMW for all the free warranty work

JB4 Beta
Pump 93
No other mods
Outside temp was around 30*F

The car is running strong...a few things to dial in and then I'll try with some race fuel or ethanol mix.

No other mods, just the JB4 at the moment, at full weight.

This is on pump gas, near full tank, summer tires (OEM 20"), with the spare still in.

I have not dyno'd...I'm on beta OTS map 2 with some self-made adjustments under "user adjustments" to duty bias, shift redux, and waste gate adaptation.

So far, it has just been rounds of trial and error, while keeping an eye on fuel trims and boost.

Very impressive and very useful for other drivers. Keep posting your research findings!

I find it odd that the stock vehicle was a tenth of a second faster to ten MPH. I wonder what about the tune harms performance when starting off. And strangely takes only .04 to go from 10 mph to 20 mph.

Can't answer this, but keep in mind that with the tune the car is making more power at launch and I am still on summer tires doing this in 30 degree temps. Let's see what the car can do in a few weeks when roads are a bit warmer.

That is also 0.4 (not 0.04) to go from 10MPH to 20MPH

I was thinking that .59 was .01 away from 1 second. But no, that's not right.

No issue, but your first time it'll probably take an hour. There was one connection is misleading based on the pictures in the provided instructions...it requires you to remove the front driver side wheel to access the connection.

I bet i could do it in 30 min now, now that I know where all the connections are.
