From an android? yep, mines works. You need to code "video in motion" otherwise it switches off when you drive off.
major down side is the screen needs to be controlled from the phone, not the car |

If android
Step 1- Open up screen share on BMW in the Media menu Step 2a- Click pair new phone. Step 2b- It will show pairing for like 120 seconds Step 3- Click "smart view" on your android Step 4- Once BMW shows up as available devices, click on it Step 5- Confirm you want to be connected to each other. That's it. |

Doesn't work with Pixel's running Android v10 because Google got rid of smartview...now you need Chromecast to mirror your mobile to any screen. Now called Screencast
Samsung's still offering smartview at least.

No doubt other devices as well, just the Pixels that I'm aware of. First & last Pixel for me I suppose

I am Pixel 3 user and that sucks it does not support. I wonder if it will work with the chromecast if I can convert the HDMI to USB A (next to wireless charger) or C (armrest) somehow?
Thanks in advance, Adrian |

Iphone doesn't work unless it's jailbroken...and everybody else trying to youtube sell you something without having a jailbroken iphone is a scam
Android screen mirroring works like a charm..NEWER Androind have smartview so you can use that to screen mirror. Older versions have a screen share option as well that works like a charm...be aware though that the car my prioritize bluetooth over wifi so you will get no sound so you will need to turn off bluetooth to get the sound playing.. it's annoying I know .... |

Does not work with IOS, Only android, specifically Samsung as its so has the protocol for miracast. Pixel phones and some others do not. Very lame.

Ya I figured. I guess I was hoping someone figured out a workaround like mirroring to a usb device or something that would be plugged into the USB port, or something like that…

FYI there are "boxes" out that now let you screen share your phone via apple carplay. I ran across them while looking for a wireless AA adapter for my truck.
