Currently own a 2020 X3MC while my brother has a 2019 M2C 6MT. The M2C is definitely a fun car to own in the summer/weekends, especially with the manual transmission. Before I picked up my X3MC, I was looking at used F80 M3s. However, in my circumstance, I could not see myself driving a RWD in addition to being manual as my daily/commuter in NYC weather/traffic.

If your commute/traffic/snow isn't too bad, I don't see why not. But for my situation, an all-rounder made sense. Plenty of power, good on snow, comfy/luxurious

It is was me I’d bin the Trax keep the Mustang and get the X3M. Depends on your finances, local weather year round and garage space I guess but the X3 as fun as it is will never be a tossable RWD sports coupe.

Got a 2020 Mustang GT with mods waiting to be installed, and recently got a '17 Chevy Trax as a beater, car part hauler, and dog hauler. The Trax is absolute garbage, but it was cheap for it's purpose. I find myself liking the larger car and convenience of SUV.

This got me thinking to get a performance SUV and get rid of both cars. Test drove the X3M Comp and love it. However I just fear after a year or so I will miss having a modified RWD coupe as a fun car.

Anyone else? Does the X3M Comp satisfy the urge?
I went from the M4 to an M5 and into an X4MC. I was looking for more space and utility. Got a dog, lake house and all things that go along with it. I wanted a single vehicle that could do it all.

Long story short, it doesn't work that way. Trying to have one vehicle do it all means you are making compromises in every area.

After this supply chain issue is over and cars become readily available again I'm dumping the single vehicle and getting one vehicle for utility/bad weather and all that like a Tundra and a 911 for fun.

To answer your question. Yes it fills a need but does not satisfy the urge.

Gave up an M3 and Raptor and got the X3MC. While I love the car, I miss having 2 cars. And I don't think an X3M would make a good dog car - it's not big enough and you'll be constantly worried about your dogs messing up the leather, etc. I wouldn't do it.

Couldn't agree more!

Our dogs go in the boot, and are very happy in there.

The X3M is the most aggressive, tight handling, fastest SUV I’ve driven though it’s the first SUV I’ve owned. When I take it through a turn at higher speed, I’m always expecting it to roll out, but it doesn’t budge. I thought I’d always stick with cars because I hate body roll and handling of just about anything else. This X3M is the exception. The kids fit in the backseats well enough, and there’s decent room in the trunk.

However, this is not a vehicle for throwing the rear end around. Also, if you have a manual transmission, keep it! I have a manual 2011 E90 M3 (the 4.0L NA V8). It’s slower than the X3M, it’s much smaller, louder, and it’s so much more fun to drive. The X3M transmission is awesome… for an automatic. Definitely one of the better automatics I’ve driven in a performance vehicle. But I still get irritated at the shifting, even in manual-mode.

Anyway, you have a Mustang GT, so I’m assuming you’re a V8 person who likes exhaust growl and likes to, at least occasionally, throw the tail-end around. X3M is not that.

When I got the X3MC in September, I told myself I would never sell my '04 Z4 3.0i 6speed...But as time went by, the Z4 just sat there and I would drive it for 10 minute maybe every 4 weeks. So I just sold it this week and, yes I have slight seller's remorse but the X3MC brings me joy, as Marie Kondo would say...My wife has a Hyundai Veloster Turbo, which is also barely driven. There was no need for 3 cars, especially the Z4 as the wife can't drive stick.

First time I drove the X3MC, it really felt like a sedan on stilts. My family had an Expedition and MDX back in the 2000's so I am familiar with SUVs. The X3MC defies all logic, I just don't understand how it can handle the way it does.

My two dogs LOVE the X3MC. They are 6lbs and 12lbs, so its like going from a propeller plane (Z4, Veloster) to 747 for them.

I purchased a rear car seat cover from Amazon, and it has full coverage so I have peace of mind that my leather is protected. They are also on a harness that's attached to the seat belt buckle .
