Anyone on KW V3s, 265/40 295/35 with spacers? I committed to the KW V3s and trying to figure out if using spacers with the wider tires would be problematic.
Thanks all! |

When** I get a chance to do it, I'll post some findings. Hard to believe it would be worth paying someone in excess of that (1k). |

As a comparison. I’ve just been quoted a fraction over $1k to fit and supply Eibach Pro Kit at a respected indi shop near to me for my 40i. I’m pretty sure X3MC’s use the same kit.

I just did this last night and today - and it was a street brawl. Rears took about 4hours of straight work last night and today, fronts are about the same. Eibachs.. getting the strut/spring assembly out and back in - in the back was a fight. Would be much easier w/ another set of hands getting it back in. The fronts - are a brawl as well. Getting the spring strut assembly out and back in is just a fight. I did four springs on a 2023 M4 and that was more like finesse. This was a brawl. |

And just FYI - I did the strut pinch bolt to 60ft/lbs and did the tie rod (larger nut) to 70ft/lbs. The vertical rod (think it is the sway bar) is harder to tighten, you have to tighten the torx or have a pass through socket. I'd guess*** I got it to at least 40ft/lbs.
I could loosen the top strut nut by hand w/ a 1/2" drive - so that is prolly safe at 40ft/lbs. Upper three-four strut top hat mount bolts have been covered. I just got those super tight w/ a 3/8 drive (I would not* use a 1/2 drive). FRUSTRATING that torque values on this car is some type of guarded mystery. Sorry I put ft/lbs - my old brain thinks that way. Lastly - you can* remove the front springs on an M4 w/o removing the strut/pinch bolt etc (Raleigh method). On the X3M - you CANNOT - lol. |

And on rears - I cannot remember, I think I did the strut lower bolt to 60ft/lbs and end bolt to 75ft/lbs. May have been 75/100 - but 100 seems high for that size nut/bolt.
And car is a 2024, so I re-used all fasteners - save a gooned top front strut nut that I had to replace (5$) from my local/century BMW. I'll try and get some pics. (And please post some torque number from what you did or found correct torque to be) Last edited by M4Lou; 02-15-2024 at 08:39 AM.. |

One a side note, did you have your wheels powder coated grey like the Jahre Edition M3... ? Or is that a quick accumulation of brake dust... ? I know the 892 wheels are very difficult to thoroughly wash & clean. LOL

Now if you do go gray, i think the medium gray that see on 963m's looks much better than the dark gray/almost black look on the Jahre editions. It is too dark. I guess my point is, if you powdercoat, re-think going as dark as the Jahre's. |
