The latest update on my order is that there were no production or transportation delays:

0ct 6 order placed
Nov 18 production date
Dec 15 car arrived at the dealer
Dec 18 taken delivery

Overall about the same processing/delivery time as my X5 in the spring of 2018.

Only really removed options from my order were the passenger's seat lumbar/width adjustments, which seems to be lately missing from all reported orders here. And to be honest, the removal was mentioned already on my order description.
Obviously no digital key, which no one got so far AFAIK. Wireless charging was not even an option when I placed my order.
They are two mics in the cabin, two phones can be connected simultaneously, so I assume enhance Bluetooth functionality remained intact.

Extended shadowline looks just perfect on the BG, including the shadowline LED headlights. They are must in my opinion, if you can get them. I was lucky enough...

Shadowline standard?

Yes, on the M40i. Not the extended shadowline though which wasn't an option when I ordered.

The difference between shadowline and extended shadowline is entirely unclear to me.

Extended shadowline gives you the black grill, dark gray accents in the headlights, and I believe the dark exhaust tips.

I don't have the extended shadowline, but I have black grill grates surrounded by chrome, and dark exhaust tips.

Been following this thread for a few months and here's an additional datapoint:

Picked up my car on 12/16 in SC, PCD. 2022 X3MC with no deletions even though M decoder had shadowline lights and the M calipers in CAPS. All options included except digital key.

Both cars get the black grill grates. It’s the surround that’s black in the extended shadowline cars.

Yeah, my bad on the misinformation below. The blacked out grill is not part of the std shadowline package for the M40i. However, I made my dealer add it into the deal that they would get one and install it. So, I'll get it soon.

The sales guy I talked to said even with a leased vehicle if you had it wrapped or powder coated, as long as it wasn't a botched job, they wouldn't ding you for not turning in the car as it was when purchased.

How detailed is the end of lease inspection for BMW leases? I'm not leasing mine, but I'm genuinely curious if they would even notice that the car had a black grill vs chrome when initially delivered.

I have returned my last lease with blacked out grill and a front splitter without any issues (both were oem parts however). My inspection was really fast. I made an appointment for them to meet me outside my office and it took maybe 5 min. He inspected the tires which were new since I had removed them soon as I got the car and then he checked the odometer. That’s it.

Others might have had a different experience I’m sure.

It's been a while since I returned one but I doubt they would notice that. If you are leasing a new one, they overlook a lot. I was over miles once by a few thousand and they told me not to worry about it.

I see on MDecoder prod. Date as December 10th. Does this date mean it is when the car has finished production? I called BMW Genius and BMW Canada but they are saying it is still in production while my salesman is saying status code 160. It has been 160 for about 2 weeks now.

Does anybody have an idea to how long from code 160 the vehicle takes to arrive at the dealership? I am in Alberta Canada.

Thank you!

So far, for my X4M

12/12 - Order placed
12/15 - Production begins
01/06 - Estimated Completion
01/15 - Estimated arrival to Dealership

But I'm out of town during that time so won't be able to pick it anyway till 01/27th

If you see the configuration in mdecoder it means that production is done, but there is a quality check, etc. that can take a few days.
After this the transportation to your dealer and it can take 4-5 weeks for Canada as I see.

My car has popped up on mdecoder since Decemeber 10th and I have been calling BMW Canada, BMW Genius, and my salesman on status. Apprently it is still in production… I was told late-Jan would be delivery but clearly, shipping hasn’t even occurred at all. Has anybody experienced the same?

Your car is probably in transit. If you got a good SA, he will know when the car cross the border. That is when BMW Canada "Genius" will tell you that its in the dealer inventory. Keep calling

Do you know typically how long it takes on average once the car is built? It’s been built since mid-December and my salesman keeps saying it is still in production. He is definitely not a good salesman… so far.

I waited delivery to Montreal ~1 month from the production date. I think that delivery to Alberta can take additional 1 week at least.
So, she should arrive soon.

P.S. I remember some comments here when a car is stuck for a few week in production state. I can suppose that the car didn't pass all the quality checks and some additional tuning was required. Don't think that 100% of cars leave the assembly line without any issues.
