BMW Connected

As anyone experience issues with the BMW Connected app? I'm unable to send any commands to it or see the Remove 3D view. I keep getting a message to enable 3D view in the iDrive settings - Data Privacy - Enable Remote 3D View but that option is not there.

Go to Connected Drive then press Options, you will see an update option.
After that it should work.

How long do you have the car? Some folks reported waiting for a few days to maybe over a week after getting the car and having the account properly set up prior to be able to adjust the iDrive setting, which precedes being able to use the App.

I've had the car for almost a week. I called BMW Assist and they said that they are having some major outages now for the past 2 months and their IT dept has been trying to resolve this.

I had the same issue. Was at dealer today. The genius did a reset on the idrive by holding in the power button on the stereo for like 30 seconds until the system restarted. He did this after transferring new data to the car, one of the other options. Then I restarted everything and the remote 3D option was there. And now all works fine.

The app is poor. Put simply, it's not up to to the status of the brand. Needs better features.

Been out and about today, and THREE Hours after arriving home, the app still thinks I am 50 miles away. Hardly useful if your car is stolen and you want track it - or forget where you parked it!!! Even had the app indicate the sun roof or window is open, but it wasn't and incorrect fuel levels too.

The Jaguar app is better and allows remote start for autos, shows last route, average mpg etc.

I had a similar problem. After a lot of phone calls, I decided to uninstall the app and reinstall. Worked perfectly since I did the redo.

I also have no 3D view with the same message as already stated. I get my license plates Monday and a session with a genius to go over features on the car I can't figure out. This will be on my list.

It took the genius here no more than 5 min to get it all figured out. If your person can't, call Chris at Autohaus BMW in St. Louis.

Used the app successfully today to lock the doors and flash the lights remotely. I was in a shopping mall in visual contact with the vehicle, while the app functions were used. All good.

Dr.Mark - tried your suggestion, didnt work unfortunately. The option is still not there

The app has never worked for me. It says my car is still at the dealership even though I bought it over 3 months ago.

App works well for me. Id say 90% of the commands have been successful. Range is pretty good too - I was able to unlock the car from about a mile away. The only real complaint I have is I dont always get the notification where my car is parked. But I can easily go to the app and see it.

The car's cellular connection is used for this. So there shouldn't be any range limitations as long as there is cellular service (AT&T in the US, others elsewhere). I actually was checking on my X4 while in Brazil recently. Pretty cool, just wish we could do more.

Try more than 4 months. I got my car in February and it's never worked. I wrote several emails to various exec's in BMW with no response
