Trip summary in app
Didn't want to hijacked another thread, so starting a new one.
See the picture to now, what I'm talking about. Seems like not everybody have it, I want to find out requirements for it to work. Here are the questions, which I hope will clarify things. 1. Are you US/EU/UK/other 2. What phone are you using > iPhone or Android 3. Do you connect your phone to the car every time you enter the vehicle 4. If so, what kind of connection are you using (bluetooth, usb, Carplay) 5. Do you have Online Logbook in iDrive (connecteddrive > logbook > activate) Thanks everyone for contribution Last edited by titomi; 04-19-2019 at 02:47 PM.. |

I have access to Trip Summary under 'Activity' tab. I usually get a push notification to my phone about the trip shortly after I park the car.
US car, iPhone, connected to car via CarPlay (WiFi), phone connected automatically every time I drive the car. No logbook in iDrive as far as I know. |

Thanks all. For everybody else - trip summary is available for iPhone only. As was said - you need to have your phone connected to the car and set location permission for app to "always" - before the ride. I hope that BMW will implement functionalities available in iOS also in Android.

I did not know about this feature of the app so many thanks for highlighting it. The app used to be a battery hog and I didn't see why BMW should know my location 24 hours a day, so I long ago disabled its background features.
Still not sure that I like BMW always knowing my location, but the trip log is a nice feature. |

I don't think it's available for everyone...

I travel the old-fashioned way. I'm not too fond of travel apps as I have my own history with them. I like to make my list of places where I want to go in advance. Recommendations from other people help a lot, and so I make a list of places where I want to go and at the same time have proven life hacks. Even recently, with friends, we had historical day trips from NYC where they had a great vacation.

I am from the U.S. but temporarily living in Europe so that I can afford a little trip to European countries. I like to go on road trips every six months because it relaxes me, inspires me, and gives me peace of mind. This is very important to me because I work in the service industry, and there are often nervous breakdowns. If you also work in this direction, you will surely understand me. Anyway, now I am planning to go on a train trip that I saw on db fahrplan. It got me interested, and now I'm making big plans.

I noticed that some tricky providers write their travel apps for Google Play and skip AppStore. So, I also have an iPhone, as many of you here. But for my travels I can't use it and have to do manual work.

I am in the USA and view my trips in the my BMW app on my iPhone 14 pro, after enabling the app in the apps menu in iDrive. You don’t need to use Car Play for it to work.

Yes, and there should be one more "Trip App" that reports your last mpg for the last trip that you took in your BMW! Last edited by ContactPatch; 06-22-2023 at 02:37 PM.. |
