New Car

My BMW iX3 is going back in January 2025 and I need to get another car. I was hoping the new BMW iX3 would be out but it won’t be till the end of 2025.

So I have been looking at Porsche Macan 4. It’s fully electric and has up to 380miles.

What does everyone think about it.

I would have thought the Audi Q6 seems a better alternative. The Macan is nice but it looks more saloon and the back droops more. Don't know need to see the reviews on it first.

It looks nice and I certainly will look around one if the dealer has them when I take mine in for a service - but

The options you may want are liable to push up price (lot more than iX3) - not sure whether the bad Taycan residues may also have impact on leases until it proves itself.

I'm not sure I'd want to be a beta tester for the new platform.

Guessing both share the same platform as VAG group, as hp and battery capacity are similar.

Both cars look great and start at 70k, but specced up the on the configurator to IX3 spec and it’s over £80k…

Nice upgrades vs IX3 are the extra hp and battery capacity, be interesting if newer cars are more efficient. I’m averaging 2.8miles/ KwH so this would get me c270 miles.

Think it will depend on how you will be ‘buying’ the car. Porsche model is to customise through options which drives up price / monthlies, unless you’re happy with standard spec.

Absolutely - that was my thought too. Porsches are notorious for coming with next to nothing in their standard spec. So you need to add everything as extras. I just went through the configurator and ended up with an £82k car with the iX3 standard features, vs £68k for the current iX3.

That's 20% more expensive, and would put it firmly outside of my price band.

I’m looking to do the same once my iX3 lease ends, more than likely I’ll choose the Macan and if possible choose the Turbo.

Current and next car will be via Salary Sacrifice.
