Has anyone tried to code a F26 no dazzle high beams using Bimmercode?

Something akin to: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=50

I gave what I found from the M2 forums a shot. The following is very simple and *seems* to have worked.

One thing to keep in mind is I read that this does not work with automatic high beam assist, so I did not change that option and left that as default.

Coding for VLD:

Front Electronic Module > Expert Mode >
3073 LaMaster1 > LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y > 9C,9C,9C (All 3)
3073 LaMaster1 > C_AFS_ENA > Enable (All 3)

Coding for GFHB:

Front Electronic Module > Expert Mode >
3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_ENA > Enable (All 3)
3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_GRHB_ENA > Highway_Standby_AFS
3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_ADAPT_SHUT_ENA > Enable

Note: You'll see two blue check marks next to some of these. Press the top one. It will uncheck the one below it. Now you can enable one of the two 'enable' options (if there are two or three). Back out. Go back in. All 3 correct selections should have the blue check mark next to them.

Some of the latter were already enabled for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so did not require changing.

Ok. When I code VLD and NGHB, I VO code BDC, FLA or KAFAS, and both FLM with 8S4 & 5AP removed from FA. Then, I apply 200 FDL changes to FLM.

After an extended drive last weekend through the woods I got to see more of how this didn't really work completely.

I got flashed several times by oncoming cars. Beam splitting seemed to only have partially worked and was slow to react.

I am not surprised. It is a very complicated, multi-FDL, multi-ECU option. Without fully coding it, it will not work as designed.

OP here. I have yet to be flashed after running Almaretto's code for over six months. He can probably fix yours remotely.

I think there might be a coding issue. I have a Canadian spec 2016 X4 35i with full LEDs and drivers assistance plus package. The car is fully loaded except the speed limit detection. It does have the assistance camera, but it's not a newer generation "stereo" camera.

I managed to code FULL active LEDs that I have to be honest, work flawlessly. They are so much better than the FULL active LEDs in my wife's 2018 GLC.

1) I was able to recode the speed-dependant variable lighting. This feature varies the low-beam throw (range) dynamically based on the speed of the vehicle. It also adjusts the low-beam when the car is in reverse gear.

2) I enabled the fully active "anti-dazzle" functionality. Basically when the auto-highbeams are enabled, the car will dynamically light up the road ahead (at highway speeds, this doesn't work at city speed). It will light around cars in front of me, will light up just the left or right shoulder if cars are approaching on the opposite direction or if a car is in the right service roads. I NEVER get flashed and I can see the system reacting before it disturbs oncoming cars.

However, when I first coded this... I unknowingly used the coding params from the F30 for the various LED elements. This resulted in the anti-dazzle detecting cars correctly, but the light beams were clearly way to high and blinding cars. This is normal given the height of the F30 LED's is much lower than F25/F26 LEDs. After I got the right coding for the F25/F26, I've never been flashed... not ONCE! US/Canadian spec cars will full LEDs can have anti-dazzle functionality enabled properly if coded right.

And well documented. There is no excuse for not unlocking full potential of hardware.

Almaretto, if you are familiar with this functionality can I ask you a quick question?

Can anti-dazzle work on US/CAN spec cars WITH fog-light turned on? My car ONLY enables the intelligent, camera-based anti-dazzle WITHOUT the fog lights... as soon as I turn those on, the system switches back to "dumb" auto-high beams... ie, highbeams either fully ON or OFF if oncoming cars are detected.

I was recently on a trip to france and had a 420d rental, that had full LEDs and the anti-dazzle seemed to work with fog-lights on or off.. but I did read somewhere that supposedly the hardware in north american cars won't work with the fog-lights enabled.

Do you know anything about this?

Thanks,

Some F-series will work with fogs & high beams.

Most G-series fogs result in NGHB not being enabled.

Hi Almaretto - I would like to some mods to my X4M40i, 2017, wondering is there was a list of options I can check off, and would you be able to do the mods remotely, I am located in IL?
Thank you

I too just recently picked up an F26 M40 and would like some coding done. How do we go about doing this? I’m in Texas. Thanks!

If you have the LED package, you really need to contact Almaretto to get the full potential unlocked. I mean, you gave BMWNA $1,900 of your hard earned cash, so why not spend a bill to get it unlocked to function the way the engineers in Munich intended?
How well does he know the heated seat coding functions. Looking to add OEM heated seats.
