Hey FrozenGas: Unfortunately my process for deciding on the 35i vs the 28d wasn't ultra scientific. A 28d just "sounds" a little under-powered to me, there are probably many more "informed" individuals on this forum but my thinking was simply this:

X3 xDrive35i cranks out 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.
X3 xDrive28d produces 180 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.

So towing I think would be semi-comparable (I only tow a couple times a year and fairly light so not a big deal for me). So in my mind off the line would be the biggest difference...supposedly just under 8 seconds for the 28d and just over 5 seconds for the 35i. I like to be first off the line...arguable whether its worth the extra $500+ a year in gas for that capability mind you ; )

My understanding is that Mineral White is NOT available with the M-Sport Line. I wanted Deep Sea Blue with the M-Sport Line but that was also unavailable. I believe the only colours available in the M-Sport Line are: Carbon Black, Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Space Grey, Melbourne Red and Glacier Silver. Of course if money and time are no object you can always custom order the colour.

I'm in Ontario as well, ordered mine through BMW Toronto. I went with the 28d for fuel economy, cheaper fuel (3 of 4 seasons at least), and low end torque. The 28d with the 8spd auto is nice and smooth with what seemed like plenty of power in all situations. The 3.5i will walk all over it in terms of outright speed, but it never feels lacking.

Those are correct.
The color codes for M-Sport are listed in the Order Guide: "ZMM requires ordering 300, 416, 475, A52, A75 and A83"

I ordered mine yesterday. Got a production number and the dealer got a slot that was going into production almost immediately. I am looking at getting it early May.

Strange you don't have a production slot yet. Maybe because of s28i? I saw a whole bunch of 35i slots open, but maybe the demand is different. You did get a pretty good deal on the price though, so maybe its worth the wait.

when a dealer gets an allocation all depends on the volumes this dealer does--the more volume they do, the more allocations they get and vice versa. If you are in a big market/or high volume dealer, they should have this info already. Like I said, I placed my order, and got a production # right away, and a build week right away(by asking my CA for the latter)

I also have a good relationship with my dealer/CA as I ordered my 435 from him back in Nov. and he knew I was coming back for this car, so I was on top of it from the moment I saw info about the LCI being released.
