Drives: BMW 2020 X3MC

I test drove the 63 when I was shopping at the end of 2019. It had nice power and sound but found the interior dated and cramped. Function wise it was awkward- I seem to remember turning on the wiper blades was strange. There were also squeaks from the interior.


Interestingly, the ride was much rougher than the X3MC.

I’ll admit I liked the looks better than the X3MC though.

The test drive was enough for me to pick the BMW but also read nightmare stories on maintenance and repair costs on the MB forum. One poor guy had a $40k bill due to his engine failing but luckily had an extended warranty. As I tend to hold onto cars for a while I was not willing to risk it (or the Alpha Romeo).

I never thought I would say BMW and reliability in the same sentence as when I was a kid they were known to have expensive issues/failures.
