When tailgate is opened, water drips inside the trunk

This has to be the worst design ever, so everytime (if it rains, or after carwash), when I open the automatic tailgate, there is some residual water that drips from the tailgate, inside the trunk or on the roller blind, it drives me crazy, I always have stupid water spots on the roller blind that I have to then clean.

It's not a leak, I mean I don't get water inside when it rains or whatever, just this stupid drip when I open the tailgate.

How do you cope? Can't be happening only to me.

it's a 2016 X3.

Um, it's a physics problem. Nothing is going to fix water on the rim of the tailgate dripping when opened. Keep a towel in the cubby. This also happens when I wash mine and I just wipe it up.

Yeah, I haven't owned a car yet from any manufacturer that didn't do this. It's just sort of a fact of life.

well, I also have an X1 F48 that doesn't do that, also none of my other BMW's did this, I had an F11 that didn't do that, I had a Cayenne that didn't do this so it's really annoying.

but ok, I'll live with it I guess.

Same issue for me yesterday. Don’t think there’s anything can be done! Just need to be cleaned if necessary.
