How normal is it to not know where the car is? My original schedule was to complete production on 12/3 and be at VPC on 12/6. Unfortunately, on my end it says it's in quality control.

Genius says they don't know if it's actually done and the system is slow or if it's still in quality control. I'm like 99% sure I'm one of those guys that got stuck in quality control but not knowing for sure sorta sucks.

For anybody here that got stuck in quality control - Did you ever get an updated ETA? or did things just appear frozen for a week or 2?

BMW Genius told me my X4 has finished production as of last Friday and would be at the distribution center yesterday, Monday.

But a check just now of the status shows "Quality check" as you indicated. Guy I talked with said they realize they have a software (or other) problem with vehicle tracking but didn't know what was being done to correct it.

I found when calling sometimes they had info sometimes they didn't. Mine jumped several steps at a time throughout the process. I checked it obsessively 🤣😂 they said this is normal, the tracking is not perfect.

Just called BMW Genius to check the build date for my car in 112. Was told production starts first week in Jan. I'm thinking this is a good thing as the workers get back to work refreshed from a nice holiday vacation.

I would check your status again, it updated to awaiting carrier assignment for me. Since our cars are seemingly in the same batch it should be the same for you.

My car was stuck in quality check from 11/19 to 12/7. After the first week of it being stuck, I called the genius line every other day, and they didn't really help other than getting my hopes up by telling me its actually completed and should progress soon. I then asked my dealer who showed me the week timeline. The car progressed to awaiting carrier assignment two days after the projected week number was over. Its still in that stage.
