Actually makes the sub-3,000rpm worse? What's up with that? It must be a pretty violent second half of the 0-60.
LOL you mean like the high reviving ///M cars used to be!?!

Try put it into dyno mode.

I don't think you got correct reading with all errors on the dash.

dyno mode wants it to be in AWD. if its not closing throttle in the logs or pulling power.... reading is just fine. graphs looks smooth, this is the same car dynos are posted of.

By doing the dyno in 2WD like that puts the Xcase under heavy wear and tear . having it unplugged of course just prevents power transfer to the front axle . BUT , the parts inside the Xcase is designed to move with all 4 wheels turning . the front axle on the Xdrive car is always turning. An unplugged case wont hurt if it was being driven around (some cases at during diagnosis we do that to narrow down drivetrain issues) . just my 2 cents.

If I'm reading it right looking at the 1/8 mile times it looks to be around 7 seconds.

That's insanely fast for an suv. I ran a 10.8 on a 2008 GSXR 600 the first time taking it to the strip. I would have shit if someone in an suv pulled up next to me and had the same time.

Pretty sure I was told today by BMW that M mode in the options screen will put it directly in a RWD mode... of course after break in.

No, it stays in AWD, just more of a bias to the rear.

Reminds me of taking delivery of the wife's X3MC....the BMW "Genius" said it had a DCT in it. I just shook my head and walked away.

when you unplug the Tcase it shut the motor off the engages the clutches that transfer the power to the front. we put the car on the lift, in drive and front wheels do barely from the fluid viscosity and can be easily stopped by hand so with it unplugged I dont see how it would hurt it. if that changes i'll post. this is same thing the M5 does when you put it in full RWD mode.

7200 which is higher than almost all other M cars.

The full list of N/A engines that rev above 7000rpm that BMW have produced are the S52/54, S65, S85 and that is it.

The S55 at 7600rpm as well as the S58 and S63Tu that rev to 7200rpm have a higher redline than every single other BMW M engine.

The S52 actually only revs to 7400rpm so the S55 beats it even though it has turbos.

There isn't this huge history of high revving M engines that lots of people talk about - there is only 3!

My S65 (N/A V8) in the M3 has a 8400rpm Redline!

*And while the S65 sounds amazing revving to redline, the S58 in the X3M is far more powerful and fun!
