Alfa Stelvio Quad V6 505hp, 443 torque, 4340 lbs, 0-60 3.3 C&D
Merc GLC AMG63S V8 503hp, 516 torque, 4517 lbs, 0-60 3.3 C&D
Porsche Macan Turbo V6 440hp, 442 torque, 4488lbs, 0-60 3.5 C&D

Good news, this segment has broken the 3.5 second mark and it looked like BMW should have been right there at 3.3 wtih the Alfa and Mercedes, BUT the weight is insane, 300 lbs heavier than the Alfa???
225 lbs heavier than the F Pace that has a V8, makes no sense. How is this heavier than a mercedes? BMW should be around 4300 lbs with these.
BMW maybe deliberately quoted the 0-60 not as aggressive as we'd like and reserving those sub 3.0s number for G8x M3/M4, wishful thinking? Was expecting X3M/X4M to be around 3.5s 0-60 official number with potent S58, then with much weight reduction on the upcoming M3/M4, we may see 2.75s 0-60.

X3M wins the heavyweight championship of all competitors at 4,620 lbs curb weight, average 300+ lbs heavier. F80 M3 is 3,605 lbs, one can only speculate if G80 M3 can remain the same weight or less (1000+ lbs reduction), we may see more aggressive 0-60 number.
Wow this is definitely becoming a trend.

Dial up the size. Dial up the weight. Dial up the M POWER.

so that tires are more expensive and so the car rides like shit. the 666M rims on the F8x completely ruin that car.
I could not possibly disagree more with that statement. I had a non-ZCP and a ZCP... absolutely in no way shape or form did the 20 inch 666 M wheel ruin that car!!

17k miles and 29k miles respectively.

Did you own both to justify your statement?
I almost traded my,M3 in because the rife quality was so trash. put 19s on it and now its amazing. it,had no grip, with those shit ass tires either

On 666ms it spun its tires until 70mph from a 30 roll. on 19s and hankooks, it hooks up by 40, and,ive added 113whp since i switched wheels

they all do! why can't they just do it like the M3/M4, make it in black and thats it, why do they have to spell out competition!

I like the black trim all around and for the money it doesn't look too bad ($7K gets you upgraded seats, exhaust, wheels, power), when you add it all up its about right.
although seems like the extra 11hp vs the M3/M4 comp doesn't really justify the $2500 extra charge to that comp package (unless I am missing something with everything it includes and the M3/M4 don't).

I don't want to debadge my car entirely but really don't want the competition spelled out everywhere, because lets face it 95% of people buying SUVs are not doing anything competitive with them!
Mercedes adding the S is a much better way to do it, can't they just add a C? X3MC haha

Agreed - I have the 666Ms as well, approaching 20K miles and they're great.

I own both currently. Wife's non-ZCP is a much smoother/better ride on the 19s than on my 20s. Admittedly Texas roads suck, but I dread driving my car sometimes, and often choose hers on the weekend. If I had 19s, I think I would have liked it much more.

sounds like you are just as likely grading tire performance as you are wheel sizing/diameter... Are the tires that came in 19" vs 20" the same?

no i went from pilot super sports to hankook v12s, which are far inferior tires. The cars response to bumps is exponentially better. When i hit a bump,on 666ms, i can hear and feel the, wheel take that impact. when I hit one, on 19s its all tire.

i dont think its a coincidence that every F8x owner i know that runs 20s thinks their car doesnt ride well, and everyone i know on 18s or 19s think it rides great

YES indeed. Along with weight being markedly more than competitors, the OE tire sizes are also very limited, although with many models it is NOT due to the wheel opening. I have run 285/30front and 315/30 rear on one inch wider wheels up front and half inch wider wheels in the back on my 1M.

My E84 X1 can fit much wider tires... and indeed... all F8X variants have been seriously under tired...

Nope. Maybe for MY2021 or when they do LCI. iDrive 7.0 needs a full LCD IP, whereas current G01/G02 and M-versions have those plastic partial circles.

Even though CF roof isn’t happening, encouraged we might be able to at least delete the moon roof and rails for the X3M. Looking at their press photos the X4M is already sans rails. Looking at the German brochure Frank_NJ just shared in a separate thread ( https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1583163 ), 'panorama glasdach' is shown as option 402 even for the X3M Comp, so we should be able to avoid that one? If that pans out, that’ll be roughly 57 lbs off the roof. When I get a chance I’ll update the Carbon Fiber Roof thread on the derivation of that number - https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1564722 .
