BM3 because so many people use it on their X3M. MHD for more low end torque and more twisted driveshafts.

After sensing the subjective dramatic improvements in acceleration after adding 10 gal 100 Octane Sunoco 260GT Racing fuel to less than a 1/4 tank base 93 Shell Octane during extended Interstate travel yesterday, I'm curious what happens if those running E-mixes and St1/St2 tunes use 100 Octane as their base fuel, rather than 91 or 93?

I've not seen any data on that, but wouldn't that translate to better performance, or do the various tune parameters take into account octane, so that too high base octane would run rough with the E mixed in?

Not 1/4mile - just some low-key roll runs from 40, 50 and 60mph between a Shelby GT350R Whipple 2.9L Supercharged on 93 Octane (800WHP) vs F97 E85 Tune/Catless downpipes (700WHP). Not sure if one of our Forum Members?

I might do similar mix but with VP109 as base fuel, currently on 93 base fuel and managed to get 10.57@ 129.98 on draggy, still the tune is not finalized hopefully today will get it done and see the results. Still on Stage 1 but this time with custom tune by F80Paul.

Does anyone think these cars will break 9's with a turbo upgrade? Has it been done? If I can make one faster than my M5, or even the same speed, I'm probably going to trade it for one.

Is there evidence anywhere of twisted or broken driveshafts on the X3M?

No, latest turbo upgrade was running 10.4 or so after 4 or so revisions... might be the tune or might be a hurt motor. It was PURE & BM3 custom tune.

I chose BM3, then went with a stronger and better value tune

Not sure if you want only dragy results but this was from today.
Less than a 1/4 tank otherwise full weight, sunroof spare tire still in car.
Tire pressures were 32front 34 rear, tires are 265 front 295 rear Michelin pilot sport 4s.
Tune is off the shelf BM3 stage 1 93 octane, complete stock otherwise. Da was perfect, road temps and tire temps were cold. I backed off at the end of the run prematurely so maybe it could have been a bit quicker. I am so impressed with this car and can't wait to get my hands on a g80 awd m3 this coming summer.

That's not very good. M5's have had the same issues, turbo upgrades don't really help much without an engine build. That's part of the reason I want something else. Hopefully they'll figure out the bottle neck and the engines will hold together. I'd love to smoke basically everything on the road in an X3.

Got pics? Curious to see what the failure looks like so I can work towards reinforcements as necessary.

Remarkable data for a St1 - looking forward to your formal slips if/when you get a chance to run again at your track. Curious if you feel your lighter wheels with wider tires are helping you reach this performance (in addition to the tune)? AlexFL and I have been wondering whether 295s and wider will improve traction, especially 0-60' and even 60'-330'. Intuitively seems they should.

Thanks for sharing your dragy numbers and your settings/DA. Always interested in seeing performance data even from dragy, but only formal slips from sanctioned tracks are being entered into the spreadsheets.

Yes, at least in theory, wider tires should help with the initial traction. But they also produce higher rolling resistance throughout the run, thus potentially negating the initial advantage.

Besides the wheel & tire combo & the H&R springs my X4M is bone stock.
Got a DRAGY for Xmas and made two pulls tonight!
Lots of room for improvement...my launch was horrible and I still got a 12.7 in the 1/4 mile second time around!

Attaching the data sheets for my day at GNV Raceway yesterday as shared in my compilation GNV thread at https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1672345 .

Great DA, but cloudy and cold in the 40s so me (and a lot of others as we discussed during the day) just weren't getting the grip out of the Summer performance tires. Most everyone I talked with shared frustration on their 0-60ft interval times. Fastest time was 11.703s in my 4th run, fastest speed 118.20mph in my 1st run. I also have no idea whether some runs were effectively 'heat-soaked' since for a few of the runs I left the engine running in between the long waits (as I also wanted to burn off some gas volume). I don't have enough experience in cold weather to know how long it takes to wait in mid-40 degree weather for the LC to sense it isn't warmed up enough. Others I spoke with said the exact same thing. Given the volume of the cars there yesterday, and the periodic track closures to clean up leaks etc, averaged only 1 run an hour, but all in all still an amazing time.

Note the slips indicate '10' Jan, but it was yesterday, '9' Jan. Since my time didn't eclipse robopp 's record, the multi-class record sheet doesn't change, nor does the SC class as I didn't even break my best time. As I now have 22 runs (getting close to forza1976 ), I edited down to only my top 8 and am sharing that as I did for forza1976 .

Dragy once again did a good job on the time and speed, but the slope still wanders between runs, but overall a great tool to have when not at the track and wanting to compare differences in set-up.

Still looking for stock non-comp 'SNC' and stage 2 plus 'St2M+' entries to complete the overall Leaderboard.
