2018 M2 - Owned 4 years now, no plans to sell
2020 X3M - Owned 6 months now

Previous 2013 F30 328i owned for 8 years before trading in on the X3M.

No issues on any of them so far, so until that happens I like to keep building my collection. Z4 commuter car may be coming soon.
I'm like you - love to not have a payment. Zero plans to ever sell my E90 M3 or STI.

To answer OP - I would see myself trying to get at least 5 years out of my X3M. There is really nothing like it on the market IMO. My daily needs to be able to tow a 4000lb boat and there are few vehicles that can do that and also provide such a fun/sport driving experience.

My average is about 2.5 years. I usually lease for three years. I picked up my 2021 M340i xDrive in September 2020. I will turn it in before I pick up the 2022 Toronto Red Metallic X4MC which I ordered this week in South Carolina. I really hope it's still a 2022 when I get it 🚘👍

I normally get bored after 3 years or when they start to need lots of maintenance. But I did keep my M4 for 7 years. Loving my 2021 LCI so far and seeing as I’m now retired I’ll probably keep it a long time.

For as long as possible. This S58 powered F97 beast is an all around hoot & it's built solid.

I plan on keeping it indefinitely since the X5M is totally out of my price range for a BMW. I also have no interest in an EV. My M2 is six years old and I still love it! It doesn't feel old at all and I've had minimal issues. I just broke 75k on the track yesterday.
