I have a 2014 x3 and I've always had an issue with the bluetooth. Music and Podcasts play fine, but if I want to play anything else on its own (google maps, instagram, reddit..) the audio won't play. The strange this is, if I have music or podcast playing in the background, that's when I'll get something like a google maps to play.

Is this simply due to the fact that I have an older car and bluetooth software? I don't think its an issue with my phone. I've always had the latest ios for iPhones as well as tried it a few times with androids. I noticed this when I was in other cars where I could just play whatever audio I wanted to as long as the BT was connected.

Interesting. My Bluetooth and all iPhone audio features were working fine until the recent recall reprograming work at the dealership.

Ever since, my phone calls still work fine when my iPhone is connected via Bluetooth. However, Apple Maps and Google Maps no longer give audio through car speaker system (they did before the recall update). Furthermore, they don’t give any audio through the phone either as it’s connected via Bluetooth to the car. Thus, I belive the phone is still sending the audio to car, but CAR is no longer playing it through speakers for those two apps. Puzzled too. Anyone have a fix???
