Welcome to the forum...
Not sure if a convertible would have the same leak areas as a car, but convertibles generally have drain tubes that when clogged, can cause leaks. I recommend you ask this question in the E93 forum where others with the same model vehicle as you may have experienced similar water leaks. This is a X3 suv(sav) forum.

Boot water leak

I had a water leak that had leaked water into the boot space where the locking wheel nut is kept. It leaked onto the stereo amp so must have been coming down fro high up. Upon investigation I found that the rubber boot that the rear hatch wiring is felt through had become dislodged. Fitting this back was not straightforward as the boot panel needed to be removed as this rubber boot has a white plastic locking ring that can only be fitted from the back. Once got this fitted I used clear silicon sealer to make sure it did not leak. Job done.

BMW X3 2015 water ingress in boot

My tailgate packed up due to water getting into the board that controlled it, this has since been replaced but I am still getting water in the boot
The sunroof drains have all been checked and the lining is dry and no sign of water or water marks, having trouble trying to find the source where the water is coming in any suggestions would be greatly received
