"Side panel finishers" de-chrome

I have a 2015 LCI 35D in Black sapphire metallic with no chrome on it apart from the silly chrome "Side panel finishers". I've looked everywhere for some replacements in carbon or something dark & all I can find is the original X4 M40i smoked ones at £44 each!!!!!

I'm considering using Smoke Plasti Dip spray or Black Sapphire Metallic Plasti Dip spray. What have others used to get rid of the horrible cheap chrome?

If you can do good with Pasti dip go for it. I did it and looks so much better!

Good Luck!

I had them wrapped and they look pretty good. I think it's the easiest way to deal with this and if you get a good gloss black, it will match the rest of the shadowline trim.

If you paint them, it should be OK, but be sure to sand them down first for a good grip with the paint. Something fine grit so you don't see the actual scratch marks. And try to support them a bit up int he air so paint doesn't run down the sides and pool onto whatever cardboard or etc. you have behind them.

Do these just pop out, some sort of clip on the backside going into a hole in the sheet metal? I haven't gotten around to trying yet. The parts diagrams haven't been helpful.

Yep, they just pop out! Think I'll try Plasti Dip Black Sapphire Metallic then if I don't like it I can just peel it off!!!!
