I 100% agree with #2. I thought I might have hit a bug where all the settings for the burbles and such had broke but guess it's not the case :/
I noticed this as well at first but after driving for a few days I feel it has gone back to how it sounded on the previous version. Perhaps there was some needed adaptation?

No with BM3 OTS the engine runs much safer, Factory Stock Map is very lean though.
Higher RPMs are now improved overall.

BM3 is highly sophisticated unlike anything out there, it uses your individual software rom whether comp or non-comp and the OTS map is pulled and written based on that ROM version.
It is much more work to keep up with all the different variants, software versions that come out but it is the best way to provide a consistent and reliable tune.
Although it is an OTS, its matching your software version not a one version for all cars stuff that you may see out there.

These findings resulted in a smoother boost curve at high engine speed allowing for a more clean ignition timing curve thus more efficient power, especially on stage 1 cars with stock hardware.

Furthermore, burble is now working better for cars with particulate filter (OPF).

Version 2.4, July 3 2020:
- Boost taper at high RPM fixed
- Unstable wgdc at high RPM fixed
- Burble activation for OPF cars
Picture for attention :slightly_smiling_face:
Can you guys provide a OEM competition tune map for the non-comp x3m & x4m?

I bet you can sell them like hot cakes...

BMW NA would never accept that “OEM competition tune map” and void the powertrain warranty. Since you anyway lose your powertrain warranty coverage, just get more power with their more advanced OTS maps.

Not sure if you were already working on that and I asked at the exact right time, or you literally made it happen on the stop but that was bad asss execution.

Just flashed new version. I never played with exhaust burble type. This time I set to OTS would this be ok to use as I have OPF?

Whay type of burble set by default If flashing OTS map and do not change burble config in menu? OEM or OTS? After updating to 2.4 notice that burble start to be much more quiter. ( May be I should manually change burble mode in menu?

And another question - how to check do I have OPF or not? May be VIN decoding can tell it?

Actually not sure what the burble setting by default in ver 2.4. I config burble settings to OTS. Mines a European Uk car so I know it’s OPF but your probably right VIN code can tell you. I just wanted to know by using OTS burble will be safe on OPF car ? I don’t wanna destroy my cats.

After a test run on I cannot hear the burbles in Efficient mode which is good, not much on sports but I do hear it on sports plus which I like. It’s not that load which suits me down to the ground.

I am 99.9% certain that all cars outside of the US have OPF's.

I think OPF is only on EU and Chinese cars (with I'm sure some minor outliers). Rest of the world doesn't have it. That said, I haven't done too much digging into this, and it could be the case that they add it for some other territories that don't legally require it but may have active legislation to require it in the future (e.g., Australia).

I just kinda trust the mapping done by the M team, but I would certainly never bring it in for service with the BM3 comp tune loaded up, even the ECU unlocked would get flagged immediately.
