Custom Headlights?

Just bought an experiment set of headlights:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/18-19-20-20...ry!95014!US!-1

Hoping to Bake or Dremel these open to paint the housing. But has anyone ever done this for this generation kind of headlights? It was more popular before the full led options so not even sure if this is something worth doing.

But oneighty seems to be able to do it for the m4s

Thoughts?

My head would explode..did the shop mention the labor needed for the paint? I assume they cut it open instead of heating it.

It’s a lot of work for sure. They are good at that though. This is not something I would want to do at home.

Yup after a failed attempt I decided to go with professionals to get this done

This is the demo set on an m5 that we will replicate!

I think it would look way better on your car actually, matches your brakes and the matte finish!

I haven't installed yet as I'm still waiting for delivery. I can help write some steps when I can! Aiming for this week or next.

But from experience of doing this, I've always had to take off the front bumper and it's just a matter of removing a bunch of bolts

I just had mine done and installed by BayOptiks. I went with a satin blackout, switchback LED eyebrows as I wanted them to light up with the OEM rings and concept half X which is switchable between red/white. It defaults to white on start up. It's a whole new car now.

Oh wow those are awesome!

Yah I think OSS suggested something like this too but my imagination couldn't bring me to see it in full light.

Thanks for sharing! Awesome build

Some great ideas - thanks for sharing. Can't imagine driving on a dark road and seeing these suddenly appear in the rear view mirror!

How some other colors might look:
