New xDrive30d M Sport owner - Black/Cognac
Hi
Said hello before by hijacking someone else's thread, but it seems the done thing to show your spec/pics. I'm the proud owner of a new xDrive30d M Sport, courtesy of the UK's top BMW dealer, TRL (certainly his customers seem to be pretty active on this forum). Spec is: Black Sapphire Cognac with Mocha stitching Vernasca (Matte) Fineline Cove wood trim M Sport Plus Pack (Harmon Kardon, Sun Protection & 20" 699s on run flats) Premium Pack (Panoramic roof, Electric seats with memory, Lumbar support) Folding Mirrors Digital Cockpit I'm also calling on Bavarian Coding's abilities to activate Speed Limit Indicator this week as well. Thank you member Teaston, again, for the pointer. It looked like this on collection day last week, and I was pretty chuffed with how the interior turned out and had a hankering for a black with tan leather combo on my next car. These are by no means as good a quality of pic as I've seen elsewhere on this forum! I had wood in my last car, a manual F20 M135i; as I was trying to invoke the spirit of the first M-lite car, the E12 M535i (Google 'E12 M535i interior', it's pretty woody). The M135i's wood was pretty shiny though, and probably acted as a bit of anti-theft device (Good luck to the dealer that gets it to sell on, not exactly a common spec for an M135i). The cove wood on the X3 is lovely though. There's a few threads on here already, of course. It feels like BMW are trying to pick up a few of the Volvo XC60 crowd with it, as it's quite like the woods they use in there. So far, been loving the panoramic roof (or 'moon roof' in American) - which was the mandatory on the spec sheet, even ahead of engine(!), for my little one. The M135i was ace for me and has had a number of miles over Alpine passes (below) and Scottish highland roads, but alas my wife was getting booted in the back every journey by my kid and we need space for more than two small cases now; so family first and into the X3. Besides I was still on my first set of MPSS tyres, so I obviously wasn't using it right. The light from the panoramic roof and height of the inside of the X3 gives a totally different experience. It's a lovely place to be and will give more of a view of the mountains, the next time we go through them. Having been out of diesels for a few years it is interesting to have that 'lump' of torque again. You get the turbo spool pause (someone more technical correct me here) and then... oomf. Although it was turbocharged, the N55 in my M135i seemed to hold onto the power through the rev range so that it pretended to be naturally aspirated. The B57 6 cylinder in 30d tune feels chunkier than the 265 hp it's rated at, but guess that must be the 620Nm (457lb)... which is actually more than the new X3M Comp! In keeping with everyone who buys for him, big fan of TRL's service on this purchase as well as the crazy good deal. So if you're lurking in the forum scanning this, and based in the UK, go buy from him. It's not a cult and he hasn't paid me to say this... I think he still has a couple of 30ds left for sale for 1 series monthlies before the end of Feb. Thanks for the help so far here on: - Coding SLI (Teaston) - Engine stats (Atrueb) Thanks to others as well for seeming very civil and knowledgeable on the threads I've read so far.

Amazing car, muzzalad. Thank you for sharing the photos and your story.
Black and cognac looks good. I’m still wibbling on a factory order. Tony’s associate, bimmerdeals has been very helpful and given me a good price. But I own my current car outright and not sure I want to PCP. |

Good choice! You're gonna enjoy it! I was in the same situation with needing more space for the family. And I feel the X3 is perfect for dad and the family

Well I won't start offering financial guidance as everyone has their own circumstances. But it's a depreciating asset (in most instances) and all that. Sure Bimmerdeals will sort you out with Tony vouching for him.

Not sure but apparently a lot of X3/4/5/6 are affected. Dealer said - BMW have allocated what they call a campaign hold release with no further instructions to date of when this will be complete – they are currently working on a safety related campaign on the rear light side panel.

Thanks, be annoying if it's delayed. I would imagine they want it investigated quickly though. Yes might be a recall too, depending on what they find.
Your car looks lovely anyway, also gone for the fineline wood and glad to see you're pleased with it. |

Welcome to the X3 family.
Lovely spec. But as an engineer I just had to add the Driving Assistant packages. Regarding the lag; most of the time it's actually software, and especially the transmission. Try setting up your sport individual with engine and transmission in sport, and see how it goes.

I think I can possibly get lane assist coded as well as speed limit indicator. Which of the assists have you found interesting?
