I don’t have this particular struggle but maybe just a terry cloth towel would help with indentations, rubbing and spills?

Indentations is what it is.

Rubbing seems to be more of an issue.

Can you link?

We use these in both our cars... seem to work well to protect the leather. Still some minor indentation just from the force of the car seat pushing down, but it tends to disappear completely a day or two after removing or moving the car seat.

Saw that but read that it leaves residue on the car in the summer on the seats.

amazon reviews would suggest the indentation doesn't disappear good to hear real world shows that it does.

It really depends on the leather I think.. I imagine on Toyota/Lexus style smooth, thin and flexible leather it could leave a permanent dent from stretching, but on leather like BMW's Dakota or my previous Range Rover's leather, there was no visible indentation after 2 years of car seat use. What little indentation that was visible immediatel upon removal was gone after a couple of days..

You have been using the protectors for 2 years?

I've had the Diono RXT Radiant in the car for about 6 months. After 1 week out still indentations visible. Prompting this thread.

Yeah, never had a car seat in the car without the Brica Seat Guardian Plus protector. At first, I ordered that one and the Diono Ultra Mat protector, but I found the Diono was too thin and soft to offer much protection, so kept the Brica and ordered another one of those for our other vehicle. No permanent dents in either car after 2 years.

We had a Maxi Cosi Mico infant seat for a year and are now using the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5-65 convertible car seat for the last 1.5yrs...

Should try the Diono RXT Radiant. My 3 year old love it.

Order the Brica.

You tried it on the x3 2018 you have? Do you have leather on that car?

We used the diono ultra mats and there’s no indentation that does not bounce back after a few days. The other mats we tried were too flimsy or were concerned about material transfer to the leather interior

I thought the Diono Ultra Mats where the one with the transfer during hot summer months leaves residue?

Yeah, I also found the material on that one iffy. The brica is more rigid and I also found it provided a more secure (non-slip) mount in the car.

To answer your other question, yeah our 2018 has the Vernasca leather and while it seems slightly thinner than Dakota leather, so far it has held up fine to the car seat with Brica, I happened to remove ours a couple of weeks ago and found it bounced back to normal quickly.

Mind sharing a picture of what it looks like in the x3?

I also have the Vernasca Leather. (Mocha)

Thanks. The Brica Seat Protector is also available in the US. I ordered one to try (free shipping). as the local Target didn't have any in stock.

I've just sold the 9 year old 2010 M3 shown in my signature photo and have an X3 M40i on order. I'll update my signature when I determine how that feature works again. I haven't been on this site very much for several years.
