Probably depends on state and how hungry the dealership is asking for business or to meet November sales target.
I have my sales in SoCal offered 13.5% off MSRP right off the bat before negotiation and any rebates.

Go for any drive event, even competing dealership events to get as much BMWFS OL codes to stack them as much as the sales/BMWFS system allows.

Yes 13-15% before incentives is doable on a BMW, but it is for a select few vehicles combined with a select few dealers in certain situations.

On a 2019 M40i Ordered car, I don't think that is the case.

I have purchased around 20 new BMWs since 2005. Paid anywhere from $500 off MSRP to 15% off msrp before incentives, these are on vastly different cars. When buyers hear that they can get 15% off before incentives it gives them a false expectation. A realistic expectation is that you can get pretty much any new ordered BMW for 7% off MSRP plus incentives. I always suggest asking for 8-10% off MSRP. In previous years, it was invoice pricing (but pricing strategies have changed). If you get a deal for 7% off MSRP you did absolutely fine and can use that to establish a good relationship with your dealer.

Relationships are key since my time is money. I simply send an email, a car gets ordered and I walk in and pick it up. I realize they need to sell cars and meet numbers. They realize I like to buy cars. We have a mutual interest and things go much smoother this way.

If you are a one time buyer looking for a deal, it will be much harder to find, but when you do you can find those 13-15% off deals on the right cars.

I just wish ED pricing were more attractive these days. I've done 6, and have the urge to go again. However, when it comes down to it it makes more sense to buy here in the US.

Is that for an in stock vehicle or a custom order?

Vehicle in stock. I don't think you can get 13% for custom order.

But I guess also depends on market. NY market will be different from CA. And if you a good negotiator and the relationship with the dealerships and sales.

With the vehicles in stock, sales will be more willing to throw in a bit more incentives and discounts. But yea, just as a general rule of thumb, there's no guarantee on every sales case.

Maybe I'll check a custom order next time when I lease one and see how much discount I'll get.

Some just don't want to give out discounts for free. Plus I have no relationships with other dealerships.

I've checked almost every dealership in the tristate area and none can compete with the offers I received out of the area.

NJ has 4.59% financing, but PA has 2.89%.
NJ/Brooklyn/LI came to 10% discounts in total. PA is around 11% + Rebates (night and day). And I remember seeing someone got a great deal from Chicago's bmwwerks.

Don't settle for you local dealerships deals.

I have done the custom order for my first BMW, expecting delivery before 15 Jan 2019, bought X3 2019 X30i with Ultimate package and few more add-on.
Excited and waiting.
Didn't go with M40i as its bit expensive and I am quite happy with a test ride of X30i.
This will be first German for me. Currently driving Accura Mdx till I get my X3 in 6-8 weeks.
Dealer got many in stock but with all options, color and interior I want, I left with custom Order.
I am sure I will enjoy the ride for the next few years .....

Spoke to my Sales guy today, he said we expecting it by 26th Dec.

Just placed my M40i order, 11.5% off msrp with all discounts and incentives on a custom order. I do have a question though - How do you apply for the $500 CCA credit through BMW?

You don't, its a rebate after you have signed the lease agreement or sales contract with ODO reading. Then you get it about 3 months after you submitted and approved.

Have benefited from all the discussions going on here. Am excited to join the forum and looking fwd to enjoy the ride in my new X3.

Put down a deposit yesterday for delivery this Saturday. Paid around 17.5% below MSRP (including the $3k) incentives. Dealer is in Chicago area and the car I wanted was on the lot.

The dealer threw in the all weather mats and the locked lug nuts into the deal.

Any recommendations on dealerships in the tristate area that are doing good deals?

I found BMW of Freehold in NJ to be pretty competitive. Avoid the CT dealers as they won't go below invoice, even if you have a lower quote. Not sure about the NY ones, as I haven't worked with them.
