Anti dazzle mirrors

Has anyone specced the anti dazzle side mirrors? I have them on my 20d m sport plus, but for some reason only the drivers side is actually anti dazzle, passenger side is not. Seemed odd as the website configurators all state "mirrors". Checked with BMW today and apparently they started only putting it on the drivers side just over a year ago. Seems very odd to me. Can I only be dazzled by one side....... not very happy as driving on unlit busy motorways at night STILL results in bright lights in my eyes.

Dissapointing....

Are you talking about auto dimming side mirrors? I have them on both sides, they work as intended

I do not have them on the passenger side of my 2019 m40i. Work great on driver side and rear view but very disappointed with decision to eliminate it on the passenger side. A cheap exclusion on an expensive car.

I mentioned this on another thread just the other day. It’s a strange omission? My last car (F31 335d xdrive) had them and they all dimmed. They gave me the feeling of being, sort of, cocooned when driving on the motorway at night... I could see what was behind but it was always nicely subdued. Now I have to angle the passenger mirror out to reduce dazzle from behind.

Due to the passenger being convex, there shouldn't be as much glare as from the drivers which is usually a little more flat, enhancing the lights behind you... Passenger side doesn't bug me much.

This seems to be the view of numerous manufacturers. In short, more and more models are shipping without a dimming option available for passenger side.

The asymmetry bothers me a little, but in reality, most of the glare is dispersed by the convex nature and it really is hard to even notice.

Still, would rather have it than not, and I suspect the savings to the manufacturers is <$8 per car.
