I have an August Bluetooth lock installed. Works great, I never take my house keys with me now.

I get that. I wouldn't rely on it 100%. The great thing about August Lock is that it only replaces the inside part of the lock. The outside is unmodified, so nobody can tell it is a smart lock, and more importantly, you can still use the key if needed.

Kind of goes through the pre start sequence and then switches off again. Last Friday 'Engine Start not possible call roadside assistance' came up on the screen but started with another press. Also happened about 2 months ago but put it down to 'one of those things'

I'd imagine battery is OK as everything else seems all right, no alarms/messages. I was kind of expecting a guy with a laptop first though....and got a pretty basic 5 series rental.

Yep, I’ll touch them in tomorrow, but the strip will need to be painted properly at some point. My mate works in a body shop, so he’ll see what he can do with it. I’m sure a smart repairer could sort it easily enough, but it really pisses me off that someone does this, then just buggers off without saying anything.
