I'd consider the carbon black, they swirl by just looking at them. My step fathers 7-series is covered in swirl marks from the factory.

I'm really torn on the exterior colour, whether to go dark or light. The test drive model had Glacier Silver Metallic and looked pretty good to me. It would have looked even better with the shadow line black exterior pack.

I also like Sophisto Grey - does this suffer badly like Carbon Black for swirl marks?

I'm torn and can't make up my mind??

Get grey or silver, black is just a nightmare.

These are my two choices then, so I will have a think about it for the next few days and then make a decision and stick with it.

Both are great choices - you can't lose whichever you go for

I have had three silver cars before, and have a Sophisto Grey at the moment.

Carbon Black mate, get it coated, and no swirls if looked after. Last car was metallic black too. You get two colours in one, black and dark blue 👌

Looks fantastic and not making it easy at all to make a decision. It's looking like a potential toss up between Glacier Silver, Sophisto Grey or Carbon Black... Too many choices

Weighing up one for my next car - how do you find the exterior noise with the pano roof? Appreciate you may have driven one without it but is it noisy at the roofline?

I wouldn’t say it is particularly noisy around roofline, certainly with roof closed. Yes of roof open and you are doing 70 on motorway it is noisy, but then that is no surprise. Thing I like is the light it gives the cabin (with just blind open) and the fact you can have roof open (tilt or open) without getting buffeted like mad as you do with window open over 30 mph

Just to add, the picture above was not enhanced in any way.
Those three colours would probably be my top 3 too, but as I said you get 2 in 1 with the Carbon Black 👍 Bit any of them are very nice 😬

Yesterday I saw a clean G01 in black with 20/22 inch multispoke alloys. It looked utterly bossing!

Just to add another in the mix ... I was after black or Carbon black but ended up looking and buying phytonic blue metallic !

On an X3 it looks awesome - Mine has red and black leather too ... again, not an immediate choice until I saw it.

I've made my choice. Carbon Black it is (albeit a nightmare to look after, I think it's the classiest colour combination with the Tan Interior Leather and Piano Black Trim).

Will get it coated on the exterior both paint and alloys to maintain the finish for as long as possible.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

One heck of a spec there, with the best colour, but then I am biased. Look forward to the pics once you have and detailed. 👍

Great choice, definitely the best colour, not that I'm biased!

Not to throw a wrench in your build, but I highly recommend the poplar gray trim (if it's available in your market) rather than piano black. I have a Carbon Black with Oyster (very similar to a "tan") interior and the poplar gray trim, and it looks fantastic. Also, the poplar gray does not show smudge marks and finger prints at all.

Agreed - I took a double take there. Oyster is Beige not Tan. I have Piano Black now and it has held up well in my 435d (always have a small microfibre cloth to hand to buff it once a week).

Defo need a microfibre to hand with piano black, even the bits of gloss black that's there with aluminium trim drives me crazy with the dust and fingerprints!

Piano Black is reflective as hell in the sun - I think I'd choose something else when I get my next car but not something too "woody" - I'm not that close to retirement age after all
