Check NBTevo software level on navigation version page. Look for NBTevo_#, where # is alphabet letter.

There is very small window where Fullscreen became supported before USB activation was no longer.

I have NBTevo_R19144I

I suppose I'm not lucky enough to have USB activation available?

Correct. You must use ENET method.

I think the same applies to me. I use my split screen to show "Map facing north" at 800ft. Very helpful for me when driving so I don't miss a street turn (not using Navigation).

RHD Split Screen / Full Screen possible, but it is not codeable. Need commercial patch.

Ya, so full screen CarPlay isn’t happening for me I guess. Not worth the hassle.

Connecting an ENET Cable and PC is no more of a hassle than using a USB Drive. They are equally simple.

I can’t tell you the last time I had a windows pc and I couldn’t even tell you the last time I turned on my laptop. Having to install windows on an old MacBook Air and then pay for a cable just to turn around and pay someone to remotely code something that should be updated directly from BMW, in my opinion, is a complete joke. Sorry if it sounds like I’m complaining, but I am. BMW needs to get their crap together. $70k car less than a year ago that can’t even be updated from the factory to do what it should have done originally is completely absurd.

I just hung up with BMW NA after lodging my second formal compliant since owning this current BMW. The $80/yr for the subscription is mine blowing. With that money they should be issuing an update!

Yeah, well if you don't have a Windows, PC, then it is a hassle.

As for BMW AG not including Full Screen functionality, that's a whole other issue...

Surely you have a family member or friend with a laptop you can borrow for 20 minutes?

It’s worth it, Carplay is awesome!

To add insult to injury, I’m paying the $80/yr for a broken CarPlay implementation in my opinion! For that yearly subscription price they should be issuing updates.... the first of which should be to utilize the whole dang screen that I already have in my car!

I agree 100%.

People are salty enough about having to pay ongoing fees for something that's just included on Kia. BMW totally blew a golden opportunity to justify the CarPlay service model. It should have been: As a BMW carplay subscriber, we are upgrading the software on your BMW to support the latest IOS 13 features! Instead we get crickets.

The capability is obviously already there since third party hacks are able to utilize it. They can't even be assed enough to flip a switch!

On the plus side, it made choosing between paying the fee to BMW or to a third party REALLY easy.

Forewarning to everyone: My X3 (G01) went in for the backup camera update and with the update, it wiped out the coding/programming for full screen CarPlay and I'm assuming the lifetime activation.

I previously did the feature upgrade/activation over ENET, and it appears now to be blocked by the NBT head unit. I've reached out to the provider for a solution and it sounds like there isn't one yet.

Will do. Hope it's a small hurdle for the hackers to beat!
