My girl looking sexy ;)
Just felt like sharing... i love this hunk of metal! My beloved little 35i retrofitted with the BMW M Performance exhaust, K&N filter and RaceChip making her good for 370hp/390lb-ft give or take
It's not a M40i, but with the added power it pulls off that same illusion the M40i does that it somehow weighs 400lb less when you step on the gas. Anywhere from 0-200km/h, in any gear throughout the RPM range... it's ALWAYS eager to catapult forward in a way that leaves a drooling smile on my face time after time. Quite honestly its a MONSTER in Sport/Sport+ Last edited by spucktacular; 12-20-2023 at 02:10 PM.. |

Bro why bother, you're already 3 characters ahead.... clearly girls must think your shit is huge. Truth is my dealer put that M badge on before I ever walked into the showroom (along with some silly 21" rims wearing rubber bands for tires which I asked to be removed before delivery). Nice! Black or Carbon Black?
You just need to install H&R - lowering 35 mm, to get it down to earth. Will enhance handling, but slightly less chassis comfort. I also have M exhaust - much fun even with 306+ bhp |

It's carbon black.
For the ride height... I respect that, that's your choice, but there's absolutely no way in hell I would personally ever lower my x4 or any other x vehicle, nor can I understand any logic behind it. I drive 40km/h faster on average than every 3 series on the road, I live in Montreal Canada where you might think pot hole actually means crater. As for esthetic, being here so long it's redefined what I think looks good. I see a Lamborghini or McLaren and I instantly feel sorry for them, not even thinking how much they paid for their ride. I specifically bought a sports activity cause I wanted sporty drive that can take a pounding, lowering an x4 (or a Mercedes GLA 45 AMG for example) makes it look like a fat hatchback, what's next 21" rims. No gracias senior! Not my cup of tea. As for handling, with the active sports steering, I've put this thing sideways a few times in slippery weather.. with minimal steering input, and very little body lean. It lunges at every touch of the steering wheel. Unless your changing both dampers and springs, it's actually very unhealthy to your suspension setup. Those dampers aren't calibrated for -35mm ride height, and I hope you got a full 4 wheel alignment or your toe/camber angles will be way out of spec. I'm actually trying to figure out if I can throw 255/45/19 NON-RFT all around to fatten up the sidewall profile a pinch. I don't understand why bmw consistently puts smaller overall tire diameters then their other German counterparts. GLC, Q5, Macan, Velar all have fat proper tire sidewalls. 45 profile on a 20" What you need is a Range Rover velar or macan with air suspension that can lower at the touch of a button. That's the right way to drop an SUV. Last edited by spucktacular; 08-09-2017 at 10:51 PM.. |

Interesting reply - thanks!
I wanted it to look like a hatchback/coupe- not something on stilts. Note: all X4 pictures taken by German BMW have lowered vehicles. Springs only is a compromise - I can feel - slightly - front bumpstops already at "normal" driving. What I also gained was improved steering precision, straight ahead stability, reduced sidewindsensitivity and improved steer-into-a-curve. Reduced chassis comfort. I have had alignment. Since rideheight is now about as fully laden, it was not off. Otherwise I would have been disappointed in BMW. I have driven the car a couple of times fully laden for skiing, when I can feel vehicle riding somewhat on bumpstops. I have all performance options. 20" 310M:s. Now handling is as good as my 1997 9000 Turbo |
