Car is overheating ? Bmw X3 35i 2013
Hello,
I have recently serviced my car for overheating after the warning light of overheating came. The dealership changed the water pump and told me they insttalled a OEM one ! Before that my car was also serviced for oil filter housing and valve cover gasket 2 weeks before water pump from the same dealership. Now I have started noticing that if i drive in streets my car temp needle is at 110 and in standing my car is at little below 110 like 100. Is it normal ? Also i started noticing that on a standing car my engine rev are higher like i have pressed a little bit acceleration b its not. Its giving 8.5 mileage in average ! No other warning lights ! Take a look at cars coolant temperature, you can use the OBC hidden menu to access it; should run very steady at about 100 C. If thrrmostdt is the problem this will help detect that

It's your thermostat, they either stick open or closed. Should have replaced it when they did the WP, you need to remove it for access to WP. Did both in mine. Really tight access even with IC and fan module out. Hands finally healed up from all the cuts.
