Our X4 didn't make it...

my fiance and I ordered our cars at the same time about a month ago my 340 just went into the paint booth and her x4 m40i was build in SC, so she took delivery like 2 weeks ago.... with a little over 300 miles on it today is the day it was totaled...

A pickup stop short on the highway and she was rear ended by a model x (5.5k lbs). she is a bit shocked up but ok. car will get replaced.... be careful out there, pay attention to your surroundings

So sad for me to see this. But I'm glad everyone is ok and insurance will take care of everything 👌🏻

Glad everyone is okay.

I see the accident happened on the Belt Pkway. Did you get your BMW from BMW Brooklyn? I got mine from Eugene and Nick out there.

How Model X (Tesla, next from God), did not stop automatically? Damages in BMW's front end doesn't seem as bad as in Tesla, and rear, looks far better than Tesla's front. Maybe I am just not a Tesla fan.

So glad she is OK! Is the car officially totaled, or are you still waiting to hear? It doesn't look like the encroachment into the engine bay is that bad. For sure the front of the Tesla looks much worse than the back of the X4.

Just glad everyone is all right!!

Sorry to see this, but very glad she is ok. My wife and I were t-boned in my 2014 F30 last year and today, we both drive X3s. Now I suggest you go order another X4 (assuming you can't find what you want on a lot).

The A pillar seems to hold up ok on the Model X. Front is designed to crumple to absorb the energy. Keep in mind the Tesla doesn't have the engine up front to take the beating so not so surprised by the aftermath.

So sorry to hear this, and glad she is OK!

This is a good reminder for everyone to check with their insurance agent regarding "gap" insurance on your auto policy.

Notorious belt parkway. Glad she is ok. We all know the material things can be replaced.

thanks for the kind words guys, although the upgrade to an x4m would be great they are still just a bit too pricey, but a few options be added t the new build. It's not confirmed yet and I spent most of my day towing the car from one lot to another yesterday, because AAA is a disaster.... but my mechanic finally got it last night and will look it over today, is soon as he can confirm total damage we will order a new car. I'm grateful that this happened in this car and not her previous ('17 a4) because the consequences would be very different...

I previously prefered sedans, but after our 3-series was totaled I opted to ride a bit higher in the X3. I ordered mine a week or two after getting out of the hospital and loaded it ith every safety package available.

Good luck!

3yrs ago my wife was rear end on belt pkway. At that time she had brand new 2016 X1. The x1 took the impact well, later that year my son was born. She was 6 weeks pregnant, and damage was $15k and all parts on back order. She wasnt hurt and lil one was ok!! nerve wrecking!

I hope it does get total, these cars are not the same after they are repaired.

I recommend getting the Adaptive Suspension on the new vehicle. That's the one option I regret not ordering.
