Has anybody else experienced any noise coming from the seat when using the ventilated seat function? I get a high pitched whirr/whine from the drivers seat only, and it changes pitch slightly if I move my shoulders off of the seat or back onto it, leading me to believe it’s one of the upper fans making the noise. It happens at all fan speeds and drives me nuts

No. I can hear the fan, but it remains relatively quiet. No pitch or whine noise at all from either seat.

You might want to double-check that, I seem to recall that with the latest software from BMW we can no longer get the ASS out of the way. I think people have been configuring Sport Individual mode to all Comfort settings and coding the car to start in that mode.

So then whats the point of bimmercode?

I'm not the best one to answer that since I use a coding service on my BMW and OBD11 on our Audi. But, from following the threads many people on here love it. And if you do decide to go the Sport Individual mode to get the ASS out of the way I believe Bimmercode will do that for you.

Lots of things. Changing configuration of ambient lights, removing legal disclaimers, stopping auto dimming of screens if you’ve tinted windows, enabling tire temperature display… among other things.

And then there’s the ASS / auto sport (circumventing ASS system).

Is the bend in that plate behind the rotor normal? I noticed all four had this bend when I was washing my wheels today.

Side-to-side, unless you have directional tires. Are you planning to keep this car for a considerable amount of time? If so, change your oil every 5,000 miles

If you are talking about the back plate, yes it is ok. When did you have your brakes serviced?

Auto start stop can be shut off, but it is deactivated in all settings. The only other option is to alter the Sport profile, which automatically has ASS off.

As you point out ASS is not active in Sport, Sport Plus, and Sport Individual Driving modes. Sport Individual Mode can be effectively configured with comfort dampers, throttle, transmission etc, if required, effectively Comfort Mode without ASS.

The only thing of interest to me on Bimmercode was manually folding the wing mirrors in at any speed, but it can’t do that lol.

There are a ton of things that you can code out of the box with Bimmercode. Me, personally, I have the following things changed:

All seatbelt reminders turned off
Passenger side mirror tilt 72%
Seat heater temperature changes
ASS turned off
///M iDrive start animation
One touch turn signal set to 5 times
Video in Motion
No start-up warnings
Low fuel warning changed to 30 miles
Low volume and low frequency of lock/unlock beep
Close tailgate with keyfob w/o long press
Close tailgate with interior button w/o long press

You can see all of the different codings here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...f=true&sd=true

And, there is an "expert mode" where you can change many more things if you are brave enough.

Thanks. They were checked on my last visit at 20k. No issues found.

Here’s the scenario: I’m listening to music via CarPlay. Stop, run an errand, come back. Start the car and the volume is at zero but my music is playing anyway.

Is it just me? Is there any way to stop this?

Odd. Hadn’t ever had that happen to me. Are you leaving your phone in the car or taking it with you? Locking your doors or leaving them unlocked? How long of an errand?

Always taking the key with me, locking the doors, and it could be anything from 5 minutes to 2 hours (as examples, happened both those intervals today).

Can you turn in the back up camera on while your driving as part of the 3D camera package? Or is the back up camera view only available when you go into reverse?

Whilst the engine is running, Drive Recorder constantly captures images from all the 360 cameras and can be triggered to record these images manually or automatically when the car detects certain conditions. It produces a video file and also data such as date, time, GPS and speed, from 20 seconds before the trigger and 20 seconds after.

I'm not sure at what speed the surround view/rear camera is not accessible, as Drive Recorder only allows playback when stationary. You can usually select what camera you want to view iDrive via the panorama feature.
